33k Mile‭ ‬1993‭ ‬Ford Mustang LX Coupe

Disclosure: This site may receive compensation from some link clicks and purchases.

‭Ford finally wrapped up production of its third-generation Mustang at the end of the 1993 run, but not before selling more than 2.5 million examples over the 14 years the Fox body was in production.  My first brand-new automobile was a 1993 Mustang, and I drove it well past the 100k-mile mark with little more than just tires plus routine maintenance.  This ‘93 Mustang LX here on eBay is a 5.0-powered coupe that has been used far less, as it’s only got slightly over 30,000 miles on the ticker.  Located in Harriman, Tennessee, this is a very nice pony car and priced accordingly, as the seller wants $55,000.  However, he also says or best offer, so there’s the opportunity to try and snag this one for less.

‭As immaculate as this Mustang appears, it’s surprising to find out that there has been some bodywork performed in the past.  The seller says that both front fenders and the hood were replaced, but he doesn’t go into any reasons as to why.  The exterior has also been resprayed in its factory black color, so while I’d probably inquire for some specific information about what happened, I have to agree with the owner that this one looks amazing overall on the outside.  I typically appreciate the hatchbacks more from this era, but the darker colors work really well here on the coupes.

‭Stepping inside shows a mostly stock interior in much the same shape as it would have been back in ‘93, with the factory AM/FM/Cassette Premium Sound System still in place.  I can tell you from experience that those cloth buckets with the lumbar control are some comfortable seats, and with the condition they’re in, it’s easy to believe that the 30k mile claim is probably accurate.

‭Under the hood is a 302 V8, with the engine bay looking just about as clean as the rest of the car.  The good news continues with the transmission, as it’s a 5-speed manual, with a Traction-Lok axle out back.  There’s no denying this one’s a beauty with some very desirable features, but I am curious if the days have arrived when the market is prepared for an LX model coupe to exchange hands for $55,000.  What are your thoughts on this 1993 Mustang, and the seller’s asking price?

    Hey all the best and if the buyer and seller are both happy its a good deal. 👍
    Cool cars the black sedans.

      Harriman, TN, known as the town that Temperance built.
      This seller went up to Kentucky and then listed that 55K price.
      Enough said.

    I’d like to have it, but not at 55 large.

    Mustangs of this vintage were a lot of fun, peppy, and reliable. You could daily this, and be pretty satisfied. Except for the color (which doesn’t rock me, but others may dig it), this is optioned well.

    But yes, the replacement fenders and hood are worrisome. Check for damage underneath.

    Black looks good on these. Though I admit, I personally dislike all of the maintenance required to keep black looking sharp. This LX does look like a clean car, but I am sure the front clip replacement was due to a front end collision, so I’d want to inspect it thoroughly.

    As much as I loved my ex-CHP notchback, and as fun as it was, there is absolutely no way I would ever pay over fifty large for one.

    For the asking price you’d expect perfection with no replaced body panels. The 5.0 LX 5spd coupes will probably be the most valuable of the non-Cobra Fox body Mustangs, but $55.000 is a stretch and will likely be for years to come. The seller looks like he deals in Mustang parts, he has no incentive to price it at market.

    Hmm… $55,000 for a crashed 32-year old Ford that ran the quarter-mile in 14.8 at 96 mph, or

    $35,000 for a brand-new Hyundai Elantra N with a 6-speed stick and a 5-year warranty that runs a 13.4-second ¼-mile at 106 mph;

    $40,000 for a brand-new GR Corolla with AWD, a 6-speed stick, and a 5-year warranty that runs a 13.4-second ¼-mile at 106 mph;

    $55,000 for a brand-new Audi S4 with AWD, an 8-speed automatic, and a 4-year warranty that runs a 12.8 sec ¼-mile at 108 mph…

    I mean, the list goes on and on. And on.

      None of those cars has the history or the reputation of the Mustang and wouldn’t get a second look on the street.

      The price is way out of line. 4 years ago I bought a 2012 Shelby GT 500 with under 10,000 miles on it for $43,000. That LX is probably worth $ 20,000 at best, in the current market.

    Replacement fenders and hood is a backhanded way of saying it took a hit to the front. It doesn’t necessarily mean a hard hit; hit a deer just right, and you’ll replace both fenders and hood, without replacing any inner metal. <— Voice of experience.

    I love this, but don’t understand how you sell it for SVT money. Especially since it very likely had collision damage. Good luck with that.

    Oh,,,ohhhh, is that a drop of coolant on the passenger floor mat?( in a singy song) I’m sorry, I can’t resist, I had such poor luck with one. The price certainly pushes the limits of foolishness. I always wonder on such out of whack prices, do people really feel good about gouging their fellow car buddies? If so, and every indication that’s true, we’re doomed, $55 gra,, what’s wrong with them?

    I could pick up a terminator Cobra Mustang in immaculate condition for less than what this guy wants for this. I had an ’89 5.0 coupe back in the day, it was a great car. Fun to drive. Maybe 1/2 price would get this one out the door.

    I paid 5400 for a 36K mile 92 @5 years old that is still in the family. Price for this seems excessive to put it mildly.

    Love the fox body Mustangs but I don’t know what this guy is smokin to be asking a $55K price for this car. I can see it selling on BaT with multiple comments of, “well bought” LOL

    Audience, people love their cars and mimic off what others have sold their cars for. Some people get lucky and spin the wheel, while others don’t. I can get a brand new mustang for that price. I’m glad I’ve owned three in my lifetime, and still own a 93 red GT in my garage. It’s been molested from the 347 ford stoker racing engine, wheels, tremec tko600 trans, autometer/AFR gauges, hid headlights, exhaust, procharger, tuner, baer cross drilled all around brakes, Koni front/rear shocks, mac 3″ muffler, cam, headers, MSD distributor, MSD coil/wires, elderbrock performer, AFR heads, hotchkis sport suspension, dual clutch, and much more to list. Now my stang has way over 20K in go fast parts alone, but I will NOT pay 55K for a stock 93 notch.
