This 1993 Ford F-150 XLT SuperCab Styleside 4×4 has traveled just 1,085 miles per year on average over the last 32 years. To say that this is a low-mile truck is the understatement of the year. This familiar seller has this gorgeous, extra passenger, topper/cap-equipped 4WD time capsule listed here on eBay in White Marsh, Maryland, and the current bid is just $8,500, and there is no reserve!
The optional (standard on XLT) deep-dish aluminum wheels look great here, I think, and the entire truck looks like it’s right out of a brochure. Although maybe not with the topper, or cap, on the back. It’s a nice feature to be able to store things in relative security, or at least keep them away from the weather. It looks basically like new inside, by the way, which isn’t surprising. There’s just some wear on the rubber bed floor mat.
The dent in the tailgate panel seen above is the only flaw I see in this truck. I’m guessing a skilled owner could remove that and massage it out again. Or, replacements are available for $350-$400 or so. I’d try to fix it first… The ninth-generation F-Series was made from 1992 through 1997 here, and the SuperCab is a nice compromise between the regular cab and Crew Cab models. The underside has been coated, and hopefully it was to protect perfection rather than covering up any issues, but it’s always hard to tell.
This seller always provides dozens of great photos – please check out the eBay link and scroll down to see all of them. The Medium Mocha interior looks as close to a brand-new 1993 truck interior as can be. The seats appear perfect, and the SuperCab area looks perfect. I love this perfectly sized space behind the front seats for storage, and even for passengers, in a pinch. There may not be stretch-out legroom back there, but if you need more, this isn’t the truck for you.
You’ve got to love Ford’s grape juice/coffee can vacuum canisters in this era. “Johnson, find us the least-expensive cans and order 27,000,000 of them, and then build a warehouse to hold them all until we invent a better system to replace this one.” The engine is Ford’s 302-cu.in. OHV fuel-injected V8 with 185 horsepower and 270 lb-ft of torque. It’s sent through an automatic transmission and transfer case to all four wheels as needed, and this seller never mentions how a vehicle operates, but I’m hoping this one runs and drives as great as it looks. Hagerty is at $14,400 for a #3 good-condition truck and $27,300 for a #2 excellent truck. What will the winning bid price be on this beauty?

Handsome Ford in the 2 tone paint. Cap looks great on it. All the half ton you could get for the money here. Long number.
Good job Scotty. Other than the dent on the tailgate trim, it is hard to nitpick. Highly desired generation of F-Series, looks almost new inside and out. Well-equipped. Those aluminum wheels look great. I’m typically not a fan of bed caps but this one looks fine. The two-tone brown and gold looks classy. I suspect it will bring the big bucks.
These aluminum rims that Ford had for their half tons during the 90’s are among my absolute favorite, it dresses them up very nicely no matter what color. I still remember taking a ’94 or ’95 two tone blue extended cab short bed 4WD 302 5 speed for a test drive. I wanted it so bad I could taste it. Unfortunately with two young kids at the time, I just couldn’t swing it. Its been well over 20 years and I still want that truck.
This is a really nice truck and a great write up Scotty, ( and thanks to you, I’m now thinking about that blue half ton again. ( and By the way I think it goes without saying…. it had these rims)
So, just under 40k miles. I hope it wasn’t driven 2 or 3 miles each direction. That worse than high mileage on an engine. This is a beautiful truck ! Probably owned by someone’s grandpa. I love that style. Had a F350 crew, it’s one of the better designs that protected itself from rust.. Lord knows the newer ones don’t. I ordered a 79 and wanted the 302 but they didn’t put them in until the following year.
I’d still want to go over it with a fine tooth comb. Some quality body shops can’t do fine work. Then the question is did this trick go thru hurricane Sandy ? I’ve seen lots of those brought to other states with very rust under carriage about 10+ years ago, maybe longer. I feel Hagerty is driving costs up for us not so wealthy retires. That truck wasn’t $27k new ! And for #2. Yeah they are crazy ! These trucks aren’t collectable muscle cars ! I love the trucks but it may be in great shape or hiding something. It won’t pull my horse trailer. $12-15k tops !
Great looking truck and would make a good second vehicle. Only downside to this is the gas mileage. 11-12 is all these got. I had two years back and loved them. Favorite body for sure. I dressed up the regular cab SWB with a Lightning front vallance and lowered the rear with some nice wheels. Great trucks!
That’s crazy, i know I wouldn’t expect over 15mpg but they should get that. My 77 F150 with the hog 351M got 12mpg most the time. And this one having OD and 302 should do that unless they put 4.10’s in it.
My 88 XLT Lariat extended cab F-150 4WD 302 with C4 tranny would only get 12-14mpg, mostly in town driving, if I drove it very gingerly, which I regularly did because of Calif. gas prices. I wouldn’t count on this rig getting a whole lot better.
I had a ‘92 F150 4WD 351W/Auto. It got 14-15 around town consistently. I took it on two long distance trips loaded with 2 adults, 2 children, and all our gear. It got 22-23 door to door, running mostly at 70-75 mph.
Look at the sellers E-bay score and bid with caution. I would definitely want to see the underneath of the truck or better yet hire some one to do a close visual inspection and give it a good test drive.
Let the buyer be ware.
Sure is a handsome girl for 30 plus years old. This looks like it could have been their occasional use truck. I doubt that every trip was only a mile or two.
Nelson, it’s believable. My Bronco, on an average week, clocked 3/4 mi to the train station and 3/4 mi back Then maybe 25 miles on the weekend.
That’s harder on a vehicle’s engine and exhaust since it doesn’t have time to warm up everything
Of course. Then there’s Uncle Ray and Aunt Jean who had beautiful F-150 Super Cab they only used for towing their travel trailer. Otherwise they ran around and to work in the old Chevy step side.
FYI BarnFinders, currently on 06/26/2025 at 1455, the auction on eBay is at $14,300
Not many with that low of a rating on flea bay, annie may be a crook
Looks like rust bubbles on bottom of tailgate & someone has covered over a lot of rust on the frame. Front suspension appears to have damage on the passenger side. Maybe not such a good deal.
Auction update: as Ablediver mentioned a few days ago, the final bid was $14,300, and someone took this F-150 home.
