49k Genuine Miles: 1977 Chevrolet Corvette

This 1977 Corvette would certainly earn the label of survivor. It wears its original paint, mechanical components, and interior trim. It also comes with an incredible collection of documentation that dates right back to the day that it rolled off the production line. The owner has decided to part with it and has set a BIN price of $13,500 for the Corvette. It is located in Nixa, Missouri, and is listed for sale here on eBay.

While I have never been a great fan of luggage racks, I don’t really mind this one that much. perhaps I’m mellowing in my old age. The owner says that the car wears its original paint and that it’s not perfect. There are a few chips and marks in the paint, but there is nothing major that requires immediate attention. The rear bumper has discolored slightly, but this is a common occurrence with Corvettes of this era. The photos provided by the seller tend to indicate that the vehicle is solid and rust free underneath.

Apart from the headers fitted by the previous owner, what lies under the hood is original. The L48 350ci engine is backed by an automatic transmission, while the car also features power steering, power 4-wheel disc brakes, and air conditioning. The current owner recently replaced the valve cover gaskets and treated the valve covers themselves to a fresh coat of heat-proof paint. Everything is numbers-matching, including the carburetor, intake, and the alternator. The owner says that the car starts and runs well and that it drives smoothly and cleanly, with no issues. The documentation that comes with the car includes the original purchase certificate, warranty book, maintence schedule, window sticker, and an InstaVIN vehicle history report, to name a few.

The interior is also said to be original, and apart from some minor wear on the console, it appears to be really good. The leather upholstery has held up well, the original carpet looks to be free of fading and wear, while the dash and pad also look to be in good order. There are a couple of minor operational faults, such as the radio and cruise control not working, but everything else functions as it should. Creature comforts installed include the previously mentioned cruise control, power windows, a T-Top, and a leather-wrapped tilt wheel.

While it may not be perfect, this Corvette appears to be an original, low mileage, numbers-matching car with an impeccable level of documentation to verify all of the claims made about it. I have always like the styling of these cars with the urethane bumpers, and I think that this car features a really classy looking paint and trim combination. It wouldn’t take much to make this car immaculate, but for me, leaving it how it is would be very tempting. It wouldn’t be perfect, but it would look like the real survivor that it is.

C3 for me! Of course at the time I was a boy(still am but much older now…) and the C3 were my boyhood dreams. Well kept and handsome car. Light Blue exterior isn’t my first choice for C3 but I’d drive it just the same.

Indeed a striking immaculate car ! This color combo is rare. A few years ago I saw a car like this with under 5k miles on Vette Finder . NYS broker was asking 39k for it. Needless to say I told the people the Brooklyn bridge is for say….. Cheaper!!

You obviously have never tried to take a trip in one. Convertibles are worse as some of that storage space is occupied by the convertible top when it’s down. Wish I had one on mine but have not found one yet available that’s not crap.

Not in agreement!! Until 78 the rack came in handy plus filled in the back & added old school class to the car!
      To each his own!🤐

Beautiful car, I’m really digging the blue and even the luggage rack looks right on this one. For me, this one is a bucket list car.

Anyone know when the data tags on the console disapeared? Or is this one just missing it? My 1972 doesn’t have the HP, only the torque number unlike the earlier cars with both.
