In 1967, if you wanted a mid-size automobile from Buick, you had three choices: the entry-level Special, the mid-range Skylark, and the Skylark Gran Sport, a fancy muscle car. A variety of body styles were available, including this 2-door post coupe in Skylark trim. With just 60,000 miles, much of this Buick may be original, including the engine and upholstery. Available through a dealer or consignment house in Oakland, California, this skirted Skylark is available here on eBay. The reserve is still in play with a single bid of $1,000 cast thus far. A “thanks for the tip” goes to “Curvette.”

With fresh styling in 1966, the 1967 Special/Skylark crew received only minor updates that year. In the Skylark, a 225 cubic-inch V6 was standard equipment, with 300- and 340-cubic-inch V8s optional. The original owner of this beautiful example went with the 340, which produced 260 hp. The seller says this Buick has a 4-speed automatic transmission, but no such thing was offered in 1967. Either the seller is mistaken, or the transmission has been replaced. Though we’re told the motor is numbers-matching, no similar claim is made on the tranny.

The black vinyl interior is said to be original, but the steering wheel is not. These aftermarket substitutions usually do not add to the appearance, and that’s true here (IMO). Since no claim is made regarding the silver exterior, we assume the paint has been refreshed in the past 59 years, regardless of the climate you live in.

Features on this Buick include an AM/FM radio, air conditioning (factory? No under-the-hood photos are presented), and power steering (brakes?). Most of the listing is marketing-speak provided by the dealer/consignment house. The car has been clearly well-maintained and protected. If you can’t get a 2-door hardtop, the post coupe is the next best thing and is rarer. Just 3,165 of them were built in 1967. BTW, cute pooch in the pics!

My Mom had a 66 Skylark. She hated it until my Dad put a 4 BBL on it. Yep, she is a gearhead… Just turned 89 last month!!
Nice Skylark!!
California cars are driven year round, if someone is claims the reading on the odometer is actual mileage and their “proof” is a picture of the speedometer that claim should not be believed. If a potential buyer believes it and pays extra based on that claim, they just made a payment towards their education.

Survivor is a car that is mostly all original, minus wear items, IMHO. This is not that. From what we can see in the pics, it has an aftermarket steering wheel, custom seat upholstery and it has been repainted.
