This old Lincoln is in Redford, Michigan and listed on craigslist for a reasonable $4,600. It seems to have lived in both California and Iowa, as well as Michigan. It will need the new wiring harness and conversion to 12 volt completed, but otherwise it looks ready for a new life. There’s no word on how long it was sitting, but those tires look like they could be from its earlier life. It’s amazing to see these old cars somehow survive looking so nice. It may have had a repaint, but it does look much as it did in the 1950s.
The interior appears original, except the seats don’t match the door panels.
The engine compartment looks tidy and original with its 317 V8. The darker green seems due to the light and poor photo quality, as the fender matches the exterior.
The trim looks complete. It even has the wheel skirts. It’s a nice 20 foot car.
I would be quite happy with the appearance of this car and just sort out the mechanicals and drive it. It must need new tires as well. It does suffer the curse of the extra doors, but sure looks nice with four. I hope the new owner enjoys this just the way it is. I can’t imagine bagging this or with any wheels except stock. What do you think?
Very nice! Lincoln is a bit of overkill for me but that price is attractive. This would make a nice driver/weekend show’n’shine show car.
What he said.
My childhood car, my uncle would buy nice cars and when he was done he would sell them to some one in the family other wise my dad would have never been able to afford a car such as this. The front and rears seats in our Capri was white leather and the seat in this car does not look original. Our Capri had the same trans as the Oldsmobile, 4speed hydromatic , and was so smooth and quiet that he drove rom Thermopolis Wyo to Cody having not put into overdrive and you would have thought nothing was wrong except the huge quantity of fuel it used. It was totaled in the month that John Kennedy was assinated, I was called back from leave and on the way to the airport a stop sign runner ended it life.
That is a nice find!
I love it, just like it is. But I would cut one in a heart beat. lol
$4600 – ‘reasonable’? I’d say so, given the rusted shells that people are asking up into five figures for. Four doors? So what!
I’m curious, why does everyone disparage 4-door cars? I see nothing wrong with them. I have a ’76 Cadillac Flertwood Sixty Special..4-doors..and it is magnificent.
