Hard to believe, but someone who won this awesomely well-preserved 1982 Toyota Pickup truck with factory four wheel drive didn’t follow through with their purchase. That seems like a big mistake, as this RN38 pickup looks like a very nice survivor with its original graphics still in place and riding on nice set of American Racing “Outlaw” wheels with fresh tires. The engine isn’t powerful but it will handily outlive you when the time comes. Find the Toyota here on eBay with bidding at $8,200 and the reserve unmet.
Half of the appeal with these old Toyota trucks these days is the graphic kit alone. If you find one of these with the decals still in place, you likely added more than a few hundred bucks to your final sale price. This truck is located in Clayton, North Carolina and is seemingly largely rust-free, but if you know anything about these trucks, you know you can look at it wrong and rust will bloom. Fortunately, the missing rear bumper reveals there’s no rust hiding behind it.
The interior is definitely so-so. You can live with it, but you’ll probably want to make some repairs and freshen it up. A new seat upholstery kit and steam cleaning the door panels and carpets may be a good place to start. The truck is equipped with the rare three-spoke sport steering wheel, which makes driving vehicles with bus-like handling way more enjoyable. The smaller the radius of the steering wheel makes vehicles like these seem as if they have actual handing capabilities!
The 22R engine is the Toyota equivalent to the AMC 4.0 inline-six. You simply can’t kill it. You can abuse it and perform all sorts of cruel and unusual punishment, and it will still fire right up. Even with its baked-in reliability, the seller has still made a point to address several repairs, including: new brake master cylinder; rear wheel cylinders; brake shoes; upper and lower radiator hoses; Weber carburetor; fuel pump; gas tank; fuel sending unit; and more. This survivor pickup looks great with its original colors and graphics, and is offered up with no reserve.

Nice looking truck. I remember when Toyota trucks looked like this. My only disappointment with these trucks was that they weren’t available here in the USA with a Turbo Diesel engine.
Ford ranger had a diesel for a couple years. Great mileage and performance wasn’t that bad for such a little engine. Only problem with them was the timing BELTS ! Belts on any cam are just wrong ! They can Leesville you stranded looking for a new motor or top end. I’ve had it happen on my x-wifes car.
As for the Toyota truck to small on the inside but they were tuff
