Square-body Chevrolet trucks and SUVs have become increasingly desirable, and clean, usable K5 Blazers are getting harder to find. This 1988 Chevy K5 Blazer Silverado 4×4 needs work, but it’s packing V8 power, four-wheel drive, and a working Western snow plow. Located in Granby, Colorado, this Blazer is offered as a Barn Finds Exclusive with an asking price of $5,500 or best offer.

Power comes from a 5.7-liter 350 cubic-inch V8 paired with an automatic transmission. The seller states that the Blazer runs and drives, and that the four-wheel-drive system works as it should. That makes it appealing both as an off-road vehicle or as a useful winter rig, especially considering the included Western plow.

The body appears straight overall, though this is clearly a truck that has seen real use. The seller notes rust around the fender wells and on the oil pan. The photos show typical age, wear, and weathering consistent with an older Colorado 4×4. The Blazer retains its Silverado trim, removable rear top, factory-style wheels, and a rugged stance that suits its working-truck character.

Inside, the cabin appears to be in decent condition for its age and mileage. The photos show bucket seats up front, a rear bench, and usable interior trim. The dash cap has some cracks, the headliner is sagging in spots, and some of the door trim has come loose, but the cloth upholstery looks to be in surprisingly nice condition. Parts are readily available to restore this interior to perfection, or you could just clean it up and enjoy it as is. The seller notes that the odometer has rolled over, so actual mileage is unknown.

Several needs are disclosed. The truck reportedly needs a wheel stud replaced, the rear window switch is not working, and a new coolant overflow reservoir and cap. Potential buyers may want to inspect it more closely to see how the frame looks, as well as the usual square-body trouble areas, such as rockers, floors, tailgate, cab mounts, and rear quarters.

From what we can see in the seller’s photos, this Blazer actually looks pretty solid. There’s definitely surface rust showing in the underside photos, but nothing too alarming. We’ve seen far worse with higher price tags, so this one is definitely worth consideration. When will you find another running and driving K5 Blazer with a clean title, functioning four-wheel drive, decent interior, and a working snow plow for under $10k? There’s a good chance you could put it back to work clearing snow with minimal effort. Of course, it would be more fun to turn it into your hunting rig, off-roader, winter daily driver, or restore it back into a sweet 4×4! For someone looking for a usable old Blazer rather than a polished collector piece, this 1988 K5 Silverado offers a lot of character and capability for the money.
