With a Camaro LT1 under the hood, this 1982 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme Brougham blends comfort and performance. It has been in the seller’s family for about 35 years and is now offered here as a Barn Finds Auction in Grand Rapids, Michigan, with a clean title. It will need some work to look its best, but the seller reports it starts and drives well as-is.

The engine came from a 1994 Camaro Z28 and is backed by a 4L60E automatic transmission with overdrive. Along with the conversion, the car also received a Dynomax exhaust system, a replacement rear gearset, a quick-ratio steering box, front drop spindles, and a lowered rear suspension to round out the modifications. The purple paint, polished wheels, and lower stance give the Oldsmobile a more aggressive look.

The seller rates the paint as fair, noting that the clear coat is separating around the front clip and hood. Rust is showing in the rockers and lower quarter panels, and the floors beneath the seats need repair. Underside photos show the issues in the floors, so we have an idea of its extent, but it might be worthwhile to take a closer look at the floors, body mounts, and surrounding structure. The seller describes the critical structures as appearing solid, with surface rust in places.

Much of the burgundy interior remains original, with plush upholstery on the passenger and rear seats. A Sparco driver’s seat, replacement instrument cluster, floor shifter, and aftermarket audio equipment reflect the car’s modified drivetrain. The seats are described as being in good condition, while the sagging headliner needs replacement. The odometer shows 13,448 miles accumulated since the engine swap. The total mileage on the engine and chassis is unknown.

For the past 15 years, the Cutlass has reportedly been stored each winter indoors and driven lightly during the summer. That history and upgraded drivetrain could be huge pluses. For someone comfortable tackling body and floor repairs, this could become an enjoyable LT1-powered cruiser with an unusual mix of Brougham luxury and Camaro hardware. Would you take on this Oldsmobile project?
