This Pontiac is advertised for sale here on Craigslist. It is located in Hiram, Maine, and comes with a clean title and an asking price of $1,500. This might be a clean canvas for someone to build the car of their dreams.
This car is really a blank canvas. It is a roller, and as you can see there is nothing residing in the engine bay. This isn’t all bad news because this Pontiac originally rolled off the production line with a 326ci V8 under the hood. The seller still has the original engine, but it has been dismantled. However, the car also does come with another 326 and an automatic transmission.
The seller states that the frame of the Pontiac is solid, but that the car does need some work. I can see some rot present in the lower corner of the passenger door, and in this shot it looks like there may have been some near the bottom corner of the rear window which has been repaired at some stage, although it does have that nasty look of Bondo about it. It appears that all of the glass is present and seems to be in reasonable condition.
There are a few interior components present, but I think that you can bank on doing a fair amount of work inside this old girl. The seats are present as are the door cards. It’s hard to tell too much about the dash, but I see no sign of the instruments. There are additional parts scattered around the inside of the Pontiac including some external trim items and the booster for power brakes.
This car really is a blank canvas. The possibilities are really only limited by your imagination. If this were mine I think that I might be investing in a trip to either the dipper or the soda blaster to establish just how good (or bad) things really are. Given how far that the car has already been dismantled I believe that this would be money well spent. If you were to buy this what would you build it into?
Yes Blank canvas and at very least a good parts car, at that price might be a good start for a budget project. Hope someone who would like an affordable start!!
Good luck to the new owner!!
Considering it comes with a couple engines and a trans, I’d say the price is pretty decent. But yeah, kind of a toss up whether it’s actually a project vs a parts car.
