If you don’t scare easily when it comes to a rust-barnacled undercarriage, check out this 1969 Chevrolet Camaro in Everest, Kansas. Unencumbered by engine, transmission, or rare option codes, it seeks an enterprising new owner here on eBay where bidding has eclipsed $4,500 on its way to the $7,900 Buy It Now price.
I couldn’t make much sense out of the VIN, but the blurry body tag photo suggests this Burgundy coupe left the Norwood, Ohio plant wearing Fathom Green paint and a black standard bucket seat interior. The seller details the car’s “new front wrap” which, in this case, seems to describe replacement components of the front clip and not wrapping said body panels in vinyl. Thanks to the decoder site at camaros.org.
What looks like a manual-transmission console is a nice find, and the imitation wood grain looks better than usual for a ratted-out ’69. Of course you can build a 1969 Camaro entirely from new parts without needing a car as a starting point, so replacing anything you see is but a credit card swipe away.
Some sort of V8 apparently filled this hole originally, and what looks like Fathom Green paint adorns the leading edge of the cowl. Reading the tea leaves it appears this non-AC car came equipped with power steering and manual brakes. Certainly a lightweight LS-series crate motor would do well filling this void. Let’s assume the body is *not* compromised by rust. Personally it would be tempting to stuff a budget big block and a five-speed in there for a poor man’s Pro-Touring car that could handle pot-holed back roads and being parked wherever you want at the mall. Upgraded suspension and brakes would be nice, but the exterior can stay as-is. There’s something compelling about filling up someone’s rear-view mirror with an unfinished mug that says “I’ve done time and I’m not afraid to go back if you don’t signal and move aside.” How would you finish this Kansas Camaro?
$2K and I’ll tow it away today.

edh, that’s really funny, it’s sort of like the guys with cardboard signs at intersections asking for money.
IMO only look here if you enjoy dealing with rust in almost every place possible. As stated, you can build one from the ground up with new parts, that would probably be cheaper in the long run.
shots of the underbelly are downright scary.Scary primer as well. Looks like they patched the rocker panel with aluminum flashing. Good luck u will need it!!

Fathom green with unfathomable amounts of rust
This site sure has had it’s fair share of 68-69 Camaros on here lately. When I see today’s crazy high prices people are asking AND getting I can only remember how lucky I was to find a 69 SS running and driveable with all the emblems missing and the SS hood missing back in the early 1980’s for $500.00. The guy didn’t know it was an SS. I had one of the camaro parts companies in Hemmings help me figure out the VIN and sure enough it was a true SS, originally painted light green with the white stripe on the side of the fenders back to the door. Which I repainted it that color. I semi restored it and sold it several years later for 5k. which I was happy with. The same guy still has it and I see it out once in a while. He will surely triple his money someday when he sells if not more!
Yeah, whatever…Another clapped out camero. The insanity seemingly will never end…QUICK-see If there’s a 3/8″ fuel line-if so,than you got my attention.
Not sold. Did not meet reserve. Wonder if this was fathom green with a contrasting vinyl top? The interior looks too good to be part of the same car with those rockers and that undercarriage. Not much carrying going on under there, really! Looks like at least one spring has broken free of its mounting. If a drivetrain was put into this car as it currently is, surely the frame would break from the weight. Good looking gas tank straps and trunk floor.
