Canyon Sport: 1993 Dodge Ramcharger 4×4

Disclosure: This site may receive compensation from some link clicks and purchases.

Dodge offered Ramcharger buyers three trim levels for its final year of this model in the U.S. and Canada, and this one is the high-zoot Canyon Sport model. The seller has this great-looking 1993 Dodge Ramcharger Canyon Sport listed here on eBay in Gilbert, Arizona, where I should have moved after high school. The current bid price is $18,900 but the reserve isn’t met. They also have a $26,000 buy-it-now price listed.

Oddly enough, this is the very first 1993 Dodge Ramcharger ever featured on Barn Finds! That’s weird since we’ve shown quite a few of these interesting two-door trucks, or SUVs, TUVs, SUTs… This is a second-generation Ramcharger and they were made from 1981 to 1993 for the U.S. and Canadian markets. They went on to be sold in Mexico until 1996, and they even received another generation from 1999 to 2001, which was based on the Dodge Durango. This Ramcharger Canyon Sport is Bright White over Light Sand Metallic.

The ol’ thumb-hiding-the-license-plate trick. I’ve always wondered what a four-door Ramcharger may have looked like… hmmm… As mentioned in the first paragraph, Dodge offered the Ramcharger in three trim levels, the other two were the base “S” and the mid-level “LE”, and all were available in either two-wheel-drive or four-wheel-drive. This example is a four-wheel-drive Ramcharger Canyon Sport, so basically the one that you want, especially being a last-year model. I’m not surprised at the nice bids so far or even at the seller’s buy-it-now price.

I am a bit surprised, and disappointed, in the photo quality. They’re a mix-and-match horizontal/vertical affair and are really hard to see. Who cares, though, the bidders sure don’t care so why should I? Here’s a similar vehicle from a 2019 Mecum auction, if you want to look at better photos. That one sold for $9,000, by the way, ouch. What we can decipher from the topsy-turvy interior photos, it does look nice inside, even in the rear cargo area. The seller has also included some underside photos.

Dodge touts the standard MAGNUM V8 (I’m not yelling, they capitalize MAGNUM), which in this case is a 360-cu.in. (5.9-liter) OHV model with 230 horsepower. A 318-cu.in. (5.2-liter) MAGNUM V8 would also have been available. The seller says that it drives like a dream and they haven’t even driven it 100 miles, maybe they got it at a recent auction? We don’t know, all we know is that Hagerty is at $26,900 for a #2 excellent condition example. Any thoughts on this ’93 Ramcharger?

These were very attractive and nice. A friend of mine bought a red and white one new. Unfortunately northeast salt and winters took it toll on his.

Nice Ramcharger and article about it. I would compare prices on these to include a “Nation Wide” search before I dropped 25+k on this one. How many miles are on this one? Car Fax? Well anyway, at first glance I think it’s exactly what I would want, if I were in the market for one. But I still would want to have my ducks in a row before jumping in. If it has “Low Miles “ then their price probably isn’t too far off. Top of the line, what more could you ask for? Especially since it has the MAGNUM 360ci V-8 and 230hp! Good luck to all.

A friend of mine has one, he bought it new. Not sure ot the year but it has a 440/Automatic, black with red interior and it looks like new. He uses it sparingly and I believe the mileage is under 70,000.

Nice, but I’d rather have an earlier version with the Ram hood ornament

Give me the 1974 with the removable top and door pillars. Second choice is the later first generation. Anything later, it’s nothing special imho.

318??? Blows, man! I’ve got a 360cc edelbruck 5.9 l. We took OUT the 318 which was installed on a Dodge d2002 utility longbed, since it was meant to slow-walk lbs like Trailers, and what not. However, we moved it from a Dodge Stepside 1978 1/2 ton which was roaring to be heard.
Nahh. Wouldnt want a 318cc unless I was hauling something. And the only thing I want to haul is…*ss! which IS the difference, as far as the differential, etc.
