While the 1980 model Chevrolet Corvette may not be among the most desirable from the C3 era, the fiberglass body was still looking good, even though performance was down compared to some of the earlier offerings. Both the front and rear bumpers received a makeover this year, with this 1980 Chevrolet Corvette here on Craigslist getting an even more modern appearance after an aftermarket front end was added at some point. This one needs some work, but the price of $3,000 sounds quite reasonable for what you’re getting here, and we’d like to thank reader Curvette for bringing this one to our attention! Head on over to Spokane, Washington, if you want to check this cool ‘Vette out and see if it’s right for you.

The custom front has eliminated the pop-up headlights, with four fixed rectangular units in their place instead. This one’s got some bumps and bruises around this area, and the two bulbs on the passenger side aren’t lining up straight. However, it appears that most of the imperfections outside are cosmetic, with the seller indicating there are no signs that his Corvette has ever been involved in an accident. There’s also primer on some of the sections near the fastback rear window, but after a few outside repairs then smoothing out of the panels, this two-seater will probably look pretty good after fresh paint is applied.

Engine choices were down to a pair of 350 V8s by 1980, or three if you count the 305 that was mandated for the state of California. Fortunately, this Corvette is equipped with the higher-performance L82, which the seller says has received a few motor upgrades and goodies. Those details aren’t provided, but the car is running and moving under its own power, though the automatic transmission won’t go into reverse gear.

A bit below average comes to mind when viewing the interior, with the sides of the console missing, along with a couple of other dash components. More importantly, better news comes from below, as the parts of the undercarriage we get to check out appear reasonably solid. The owner mentions possible trades, such as another car or a 4×4, but I’d also certainly consider dropping three grand in cash here without too much hesitation. All things considered, is this 1980 Chevrolet Corvette a good deal?

Hey where the hell are my comments going? I don’t see them. If I have to be a member to post then that sucks.
Yeah, I got the same problem… Comments disappear… Started about a month ago.
They aren’t disappearing. They are going to moderation. Being a member helps because then they skip that process. We have been trying to edit how it works but it’s part of WordPress’ main code.
At this price part it out.
I am still waiting to hear from a Barn Finder who has owned a “Cheap” project car.
I’m more interested in the Ford truck to be completely honest lol
