Classic Car Collection for Sale!

When car collections come up for sale, it’s always a blast to virtually walk through the backyards of these stewards of forgotten classics. This listing is based out in Canon City, New Mexico, where there’s still quite a bit up for grabs despite some vehicles already finding new homes. There are two Ford Sedan Deliveries; a ’47 Chevy coupe; a ’42 Buick Fastback; a ’47 Chevy Stylemaster; and numerous others. There are some later model vehicles as well, including a Chevy K5 Blazer and a 454-equipped four-door pickup truck. Find the whole collection here on craigslist with no prices listed.

Thanks to Barn Finds reader Gunter K. for the find. This is a sweet ’54 Nash Rambler Airflyte Custom Wagon, with its incredible slab-sides and windswept look, which had to have been revolutionary when it was new. Covering up the wheels at all four corners is something we haven’t seen since (at least not that I can recall) and even better, this one looks to be incredibly solid owing to its location in the dry American Southwest. The paint on most of these vehicles is almost certainly burnt off in many places, but that’s hardly a concern compared to having to deal with rust repair.

Now, that’s not to say everything here is rust-free. This sweet Chevy K5 Blazer may be an enormously popular collector’s item right now that is finding its way increasingly to the likes of Mecum and Barrett-Jackson auctions, but that doesn’t mean every example can be saved. Despite seeing rust in the lips of the fenders, this looks like a restorable truck, but it’s disappointing to see a truck from this part of the world still have some rust issues to sort out. Still, the good news is that it looks very complete, down to the removable hardtop, and I’d be happy to drive it with the tires re-inflated and just live with the rust for the time being.

This appears to be the “tin Woody” the seller references, and I’d peg it as a ’52 Chevrolet – does anyone else have a better guess than mine? This would be a sweet project done any number of ways, from a proper frame-off restoration to a rat rod with the heavy patina preserved. There are some very cool projects here, and whoever collected them definitely had an eye for the more desirable specimens that flew beneath the radar of the collector car scene. The location should help some buyers make decisions sight unseen knowing that rust won’t be a big issue, but some more details would likely still be appreciated, so give the seller a call if any of these catch your eye. Which one would you bring home?

The ‘42 Buick and ‘47 Olds fastbacks would be my first choice, just for their cool body styles but talk about a fistful of (classic) dollars!

Some interesting vehicles, with several of them now marked as “SOLD”.

I’m fascinated by the chopped C-10, and wonder about the story behind it, and what it has for power. somehow, it must have been favored over others, being under a roof instead of out in the yard.

There are way more cars in the backgrounds of the photos than are listed. I’m therefore curious about the total number available… and whether any have documentation to go along with them.

I too saw that 73/74 Chevy chop top and wondered the same thing.

Crazy idea – The Nash looks like a hovercraft. Make it all electric for no sound, put neon lights around the perimeter for a glow effect and airbags on all 4 corners to lift it into hover position for driving & lower it for parking.

      Too many moons ago
On my first trip to florida with the kids
I drove by a bunch of lowriders with neons under the cars and it was very cool
You gave me a pleasant flashback to 30 years ago

I would guess that K5 didn’t start life in the southwest, that looks like a rust belt transplant. I would take the chevy crew cab, getting harder to find those in original condition.

I would go for the Nash wagon. I love wagons and this one, restored to its original state, would certainly start some conversations.

Don’t see the chopped Crosley wagon on the list. Too bad.

Well, I see a Crosley, some barrels and tubing, the Nash and no doubt a dog or two has “done their business there.” That means you can have Crosley, Stills, Nash & Dung! Now I know 75% of you are probably too young to get this but the other half should!

This half gets it. Also, after getting a ’49 Crosley station wagon that was used as a chicken coop I get that too. It was in good condition but just couldn’t get the smell out of it so rebodied it with a ’48 sedan body.

This other half half snorted his orange juice then just about choked on his jalapeño bacon omelette breakfast while reading this and laughing..
      Outstanding malaprop, Chinga-Trailer.

First this is in Canon City, CO not NM. Slight misprint or oversight. Most of these look pretty rough and only a few like the panel trucks have much collector value in my opinion but who knows everyone has their own taste. I think that Blazer is almost past saving but I have seen folks bring back worse.

The ad shows a front pic of the Chevy Tin Woody, it’s a ’51. With the disclaimer that it could be a ’49 to ’52 with a nose transplant.
I like the bathtub Nash, trying to redo it either stock or modified would result your finances taking a bath.

The first picture shows an early 50’s Buick Roadmaster Tin Woodie next to the T-bird, it has the 4 ventiports in the hood. That would be my choice to bring back from all the group of classics shown here.
