If you want a sporty pickup that you don’t have to worry about driving, this 1965 Chevrolet C-10 might be the perfect one for you. The seller says it is a factory short-box and it appears to have original paint as well. It can be found here on eBay with a current bid of nearly $10,000 and the reserve hasn’t been met yet. Located in Santa Barbara, California, there isn’t a ton of information in the ad, but based on the photos, we can learn a few things.
The engine is a 350 crate motor that has some typical dress-up items like the finned aluminum valve covers and air cleaner cover. You can see the engine compartment is pretty clean, which takes a bit of TLC to do. Power steering and power brakes are also present, which I’m sure makes this truck fun to drive. The transmission is a Turbo 350, so you don’t have to worry about shifting gears. The aluminum radiator is a nice upgrade to keep the truck running cool in the California heat.
Like the engine compartment, the interior is surprisingly clean. I’m not sure why the driver’s side door panel appears to be missing. The dash has been upgraded with after-market gauges and the column is topped with an aftermarket steering wheel.
The truck has a great stance. You can see it has a mild rake in this photo. The seller says it has dropped spindles and springs along with disc brakes in the front. The rally-style wheels always look great on any classic Chevy car or truck. Overall, this looks like a pretty fun truck. There are a few things pointed out in the ad that needs to be addressed, but it could certainly be enjoyed while working toward making it perfect. What do you think?
Nicely done. These are the type of builds that you can drive and enjoy, which is more fun than something so perfect you can eat off of it.
I agree bobhess. The interior looks very comfortable, should be a pleasure to drive. An overdrive transmission would be on my list. And it looks like he kept the brake pedal from its standard trans days. Thanks Montana!
All these Chevys, standard or automatic had the small brake pedal. My 66 came from the factory with a PG and it had the small brake pedal. My main concern here would be the heater delete!
Looks like the seller took care of the essentials to make this 65 C10 a comfortable driver. This one will sell quickly I’m sure. Good find.
Love these old pickups…
Put some tires on it and it would be great!
With a new paint job this would be a neat truck to drive.
Most mechanical biggies have been done on this 65 C10, and if you can it buy for a reasonable price, only thing you need to worry about is customizing with paint, wheels and rims that you want. Reasonable price is the kicker though. $15-$20k Imo.
SOLD! $16,100. good start to a nice ride.
