Barn Finds reader BobQ recently spotted this collection of a dozen classic cars and trucks that the owner says must go, and while it’s not the largest bunch of vehicles we’ve ever seen in one place there’s some really cool stuff here to choose from, so if you’re itching for a project to help pass the winter months there may be something good in here for you worth checking out. The vehicles are located in Albuquerque, New Mexico, with each one priced individually, and they can all be seen here on Craigslist. The collection started as more than 12 but a couple of them have already sold, but there’s still plenty left to pick from. Thanks, BobQ, for the great tip!
Two ’67 Chevelles are present, including the red 2-Door Hardtop and the blue Super Sport. Although we just get one full photo of the red car, from what we can see it looks pretty much complete and mostly stock outside except for the wheels. No further information is given on it beyond the asking price, which is $21,500. We do get two photos of the blue SS, but even with the additional picture, it’s hard to tell much at all about this one, other than it appears to have some hopefully not too-serious damage in both the front and back. I can’t really tell if that’s body filler cracking on the rear quarter or if it’s just the paint, but this one’s gonna need some body work for sure. But if the 396 is still under the hood, maybe the $30,000 asking price is in the ballpark.
The oldest and perhaps best overall condition offering is this 1947 Dodge D150 pickup, which we do get two decent photos of. The truck looks really good from every angle we can see, including the passenger side, but the only thing the seller mentions is that it’s nice. He’s asking $35,500, and while I agree it’s nice, I’d want some more details before considering shelling out that kind of money.
There’s also a pair of 1979 Pontiac Trans Ams to choose from, one running, the other not. The non-running car is said to be equipped with the Olds-sourced 403 and automatic transmission, with an asking price of $12,500. The running example has the same 403 and is also an automatic, plus it’s got the Y84 package. This one’s going to set you back $15,500. The other F-Body is a 1973 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28, which is said to be numbers-matching and comes at a price of $25,500. You can also see a little more of the red Chevelle in the Camaro photo sitting next to it.
Several other cars are also available, including this 1989 Fox body Mustang GT with a 302 and a 5-Speed for $15,500, along with a few more to choose from. The seller is pretty upfront in stating that these cars are in need of restoration but says that they are all complete and solid builders. What are some of your favorite cars in this collection? Is there one in particular that you’ve got your eye on for a project?
I want some of what this seller is smokin!!!! Those prices????
I think that the seller grasps the idea of the sudden goofy increase in “value”. Many regular guys with old car fever tell themselves they are a hedge against inflation and that is how they sell it to their wives so they will get no flack. Just a big bubble with the sides getting more and more taunt.
The red 67 is a 283 based on the fender emblems. Not enough details to tell for certain but that car ran around $2400-$2800 new so IMO the opinion with no details the price is way out of line. Same with the 67 SS, not enough details to justify that price. The rest – who knows?
He doesn’t want to sell them but he told the wife he would try. I’ve done it.
My wife doesn’t like it when I want to sell a car. But maybe she would if I had 12.
I,ll pass. For $10,000 in your pocket. You can hold off–look around and will find alot nice and drive away car. Plus you would,nt have to travel so far and have it hauled back home. He,ll have them alot longer for that price. Unless a nut case comes buy and pays him more. Had it happen to me once. hahaha
None at the prices he’s asking. Far as I’m concerned asking that kind of money for a non running vehicle is nuts. Let him keep them for a while, maybe then he’ll try setting a more reasonable price. Get smart and refuse to pay exorbant prices for junk, even if it is restorable.
Love the Dodge truck, but not the price! Pass,
I saved Chevys and Mustangs all my life.I was retiring in 2013 so that summer had garage sales most every weekend .I bought a new camper came to Florida and after a year paid cash for a house . I just lowered the price I thought they were worth,And sold 35 cars the first weekend out of my 102 car truck selection and lost some and made some big bucks on the others.Only kept two my 71 Chevy short bed with air and new drivetrain,54 thousand miles. And my 68 T Bird 2 door with 11000 miles and 429 in it.Both with no rust.
Massively overpriced
