Near Pueblo, Colorado, you’ll find a field dotted with several shipping containers. Inside one of them housed this awesome 1955 Chevrolet, which is now for sale. It can be found here on Craigslist with a firm asking price of $9,000. There isn’t a ton of information in the ad regarding the history of the car. Also, there aren’t any photos of the engine compartment or interior, but there are some well-detailed photos of the body. Have a look at this project and see if this awesome tri-five is for you and thanks to Ikey H. for the tip on this one!
As mentioned before, there isn’t a lot of information in the ad. It does say the car is “95% complete” with the gas tank and front door panels removed. All the window glass is present and the seller has the original bench seat, but it isn’t currently in the car. There aren’t any photos of the engine compartment, but the seller says the original motor is missing and the current powerplant is stuck. This will give the new owner a blank slate for the drivetrain. These cars can accept pretty much any engine you can think of. Small block, big block, LS…What would you drop in it?
Here you can see a detailed photo of the rocker area. The ad says there is surface rust on the body and there is a rust hole in the driver’s side floor. The trunk is said to be solid and based on the limited photos, there doesn’t appear to be major rust issues. The great thing is these cars are well supported by the aftermarket and you can get any replacement panels you need.
The wheels and tires have a great look. I don’t know if they are included with the sale, the ad doesn’t mention anything about them. Overall, this looks like a pretty solid project. Tri-Five Chevys are becoming harder and harder to find and a project like this would be at the top of a lot of peoples list. What do you think about this one?
Which engine?? Tranny? Pictures?? underbelly??? Bueller?? Bueller?? Another candidate for the worst listing this year. From what you can see it looks solid. Go Look and make an offer. Unless said clown doesn’t really want to sell . I don’t understand these guys, SMFH.
Happy easter!
Cheers

V-8 three speed and motor is locked read. Looks like a great project for someone, wondering where it was hiding before the container. The patenia is great! This will make someone a nice car.
I think it’s a 6 with three on the tree.
Seller purposely omits any pictures of interior, floors, trunk floor, and underhood. Hmmmmmm.
I hate it when someone parks something somewhere, and then suddenly “find it”. It’s not found, it’s been there the whole time since They left it there.
Possibly it was left and someone paying rent to store it there just stopped – maybe they died or just didn’t want to pay anymore so it reverted to the person renting the space out.
One of these sellers, who are thinking, making quick money with a classic car.
“Ah look its a classic chevy. It looks like scrap, but it is strongly sought. So let us post the nearest possible price next to 10k Dollars”
Sorry guys. For that price you have a bit more to do, as just rolling the chevy out of the container.
I live east of Pueblo, CO and would be interested to know exactly where this “field” is. Looks like it is probably close to where I live. I’m not interested in this car, but would like to know what else the owner has, and if I might know him.
Money pit. Pass
Looks like a fairly solid project to me. These cars are still bringing good money as a restomod so I don’t see $9k as outrageous if the underbelly is as solid as the rest of the car. Not everyone thinks to put an exhaustive catalog of pictures on Craigslist. If you’re interested you could always contact the seller and request additional pictures, I’m sure a they would be willing to take and send them to you.
I say if it stops, runs, all the chrome and glass there, bumper cores around somewhere, etc.,etc., it’s worth $9K. It doesn’t, and they’re not, so no-not imo. If you shop around you can buy a pretty decent running driver for that kinda money. They are all rusty-65 yrs old. I would say that in that shape $6-7K would be fair. Not a good ad.
My brother Jim had one of these in 1959. 6 and 3 on the tree. He bent the car around a 2 foot wide oak tree. Just a wee lad then I can remember what it cost. $700.00 used from used car lot in Milwaukee . Ten years later you could get one running for a hundred bucks.
