EXCLUSIVE: 1969 Oldsmobile Cutlass S Convertible

Having listed so many barn finds with us recently, we finally asked Larry B a bit more of the story. It turns out, he has a warehouse packed full of classic cars and he has recently decided to thin the herd! We will be doing a more detailed story on that soon, but he has another one of his cars ready to go. This Cutlass S Convertible is clearly in need of total restoration, but Larry claims that the body is super straight and rock solid. It’s obviously missing some pieces, but the major components are present. You can find it in Quincy, Illinois with a $3,500 asking price and you can contact him via the form below!

Larry notes that the front clip is missing, as you can see in the photos, but the car is otherwise complete. He hasn’t attempted to start the engine, as he’s sure the fuel tank needs repairs. He did, however, attempt to turn the engine over and was able to do so. That’s a major plus since much of your budget might end up being tied up in a new front clip. And unfortunately, Larry doesn’t say which engine this Cutlass was optioned with. Engine options ranged from an inline-six up to a 325 horsepower 350 V8. This one is clearly a V8, but it’s hard to tell if it’s a two or four-barrel model.

The inside is going to need a ton of work as well, but it does look like all the important bits are here. The seats will need new upholstery and I’d plan on replacing lots of trim bits that could be damaged or missing. Thankfully, the original center console is present, as those can get a bit spendy to replace. You can take a closer look at additional photos here.

It might need a ton of work and lots of parts, but this Cutlass could be a good project to take on. Being a convertible means that it’s a fairly desirable car, so you might be able to restore it and not be upside down. Add a Hurst Dual-Gate shifter and this would be one heck of a fun convertible to cruise around in! So, are you up to taking this project on? Or are you going to wait and see what else Larry has stashed away?

Sorry at the time that I wrote the add, I forgot to mention the powertrain. It has the 350 engine 4bbl, auto, ps, pb, radio, power top and ralley wheels. It is mainly missing the front clip. All the other bits and pieces seem to be there

Thank you for the write up on this ad and you are right I have a warehouse packed with classic cars. Plus I have another warehouse full of cleassic cars. I am going to try and attempt to get down to one warehouse which is why I am thinning the herd so to speak.

Coming soon to barn finds is a 1966 Ford F100 Ranger Custom Cab Pickup with air and buckets for only $3500.

Plus I have a 38 car package deal with a large amount of original parts that I have yet to send in the ad. I will try to send that in later tonight

Should not be very hard to find a front clip for this. Still lots around

  4. Troy s

Sharp looking car it could be and definitely was at one time. Beach cruiser when completed, still see a few of these on coastal 101 occasionally.
