It’s not often free* classics come onto the market (*=donations appreciated), especially multiple ones at the same time with a spare parts supply! These Triumphs are located in Clinton, Indiana, for the moment, although they are due to be scrapped (!) any day now! If you’re interested, read on or check out this post on Facebook.

The story behind these cars is sad; to make it short, the gentleman who collected them (and many more Triumphs and parts) has become disabled and has moved on to a nursing home. His son was selling the collection (except for one car he is keeping) and unfortunately has run out of time — all the cars and parts were stored in the red barn behind the cars in some of the pictures, and the lease is up on the space. Now, and for the next couple of days at the most, is the only time the cars can be picked up. A friend of the collection’s owner named Chris is trying to facilitate getting the cars a home (details are in the Facebook post, as is his contact information), and they are essentially free for pickup at this point (any donations appreciated, of course). My understanding is that all the cars have titles as well! I purchased one vehicle for the collection and drove out from North Carolina to pick it up last week — I can vouch that these cars can be restored. In the pictures above, you can see a Topaz late TR6, several other TR6s, a red Spitfire Mk. 1, a white Spitfire Mk. 3, and a blue Spitfire Mk. 2 that has been nicely converted to a Spit-6 with GT6 parts!

There is a TR3 and several other TR6s in these shots, as well as other views of the cars from above. Note that there are stacked spare parts on all of the cars, and LOTS of parts that are still in the building. A small selection of the parts, including nice body panels and complete, free engines, is below.

Yes, those are nice, straight TR6 fenders, Triumph bumpers, and all kinds of other parts. Hurry and get what you can; the junkyard is literally just down the road, and anything not picked up shortly will be crushed (not a threat, I spoke with the landowner, and he has zero interest in any of it). Good luck and happy Triumphing! Please let us know if you acquire any of them, and perhaps I’ll share my true barn find shortly!

It’s tough to beat that price structure.
Free.99 is hardly ever a price to pass up! I am not into these, but hopefully someone in these circles can spread the word.
Hopefully someone who has the space and reasonable proximity can act as the transit point for all these treasures and disseminate the cars and parts appropriately.
Never fails. The best deals come up when I’m low on cash and time
And too far away to be worth pursuing!
Scrap the Spitties and pick the best of the others-
Wouldn’t the scrap guy sell them off?
Room. I just need more room.
I’d be all over this if they weren’t so far away.
