General Motors redesigned its mid-size cars in 1968, including the Oldsmobile Cutlass family. That included the base F-85, the mid-range “S”, and the Supreme. The seller’s 1969 example is from the “S” series and is one of 13,498 convertibles built that year. We’re not told the running status of this automobile, but the right front flat tire suggests that maybe it doesn’t. Located in Miami, Florida (or Milwaukee, Wisconsin?), the body and paint will need attention if you want something more than a driver. The asking price here on eBay is $14,900.

Styling changes in 1969 weren’t significant but noticeable. The turn signals between headlights had been relocated, and the taillights were now vertical rather than horizontal. Overall, the appearance of the cars had improved (IMO). The Cutlass S relied solely on V8 power, beginning with a “Rocket” 350 cubic inch version like in the seller’s car. At 66,000 miles, the setup is numbers-matching, regardless of whether any mechanical work is needed.

Rust is said not to be an issue, excluding the driver’s side rear quarter panel. The list of options assigned to this Oldsmobile is rather long, and the seller says some of them are rare, such as a power trunk release, power radio antenna, and other stuff that tends to quit working after a few years. We assume they’re still functioning here since the seller went to the trouble of listing them.

Confusing is where the car is located. The fill-in-the-blank part of the listing says Miami, but the seller says the vehicle is currently near Milwaukee. Perhaps the car is enroute to Florida. That would be important to clarify when it comes time to send a truck/trailer after your newly acquired prize.

15K for a car that has a flat tire, junk on the passenger floor, and “runs good”? Don’t think so.
Presentation is EVERYTHING! The listing of various options is good, but no info on running/functioning condition. Too vague on important details. GLWTA!! :-)
It’s the lack of pictures that tells you everything. $15k for this car is top dollar and the seller couldn’t be bothered ,to flood the ad with pics of all the options and high points? My eyes might be fooling me but, aren’t those Buick wheels?
Either that or some Magnum 500-style knockoffs. I think Buick wheels have larger center caps.
Also, the spokes ae curved on Buick Road Wheels.
Olds SS1 wheels
If the car spent any time in Wisconsin plan on a lot of rust!
Did they run out of film or just not want to show the engine and trunk?
Seems like a lot for a starting point. Someone spent some time reviewing the option list. Power locks were a brand new feature back then. Sales of these tumbled by the end in ’72.
The options are indeed extensive and far beyond what I’ve ever seen on one car. I’d be willing to bet this thing would win A LOT OF AWARDS for things like power vent windows, power antenna, power locks, tilt, climate control ALL BEING ON ONE CAR would make this auction indeed rare!
seller states only rust on L/R 1/4. i see rust all over this convert, fenders,1/4s doors hood. great has a lot of options. your too lazy to fix the flat tire. is it in FLA? or is it Milwaukie? no truck floor or engine shots and a wealth of knowledge on the options though. it is wearing the SS1 wheel option. these are olds wheels for sure. today market i would offer $7500.00. i bet there is a lot more rust that is seen.
I agree. I owned a 69 442, a cousin to this car. It’s got a nice dash, decent interior but there’s a boatload of body pitting, rust, and the front hood doesn’t meet the fender (hit?). $15k is not a bad starting point for a project…but 100% with y’all….where’s the engine photos and comments about running condition? Sorry if I just stated the obvious.
Loaded with options, like a vinyl bench seat and a column shifter!
Si, Pero No!
Looks like a car that was in great condition, then given to a teenager who ran it to death and drove into the ground . . .
