This 1966 Chevy II is already running and driving, with lots of new parts said to have been installed. I feel this one has good potential to bring it to a higher level, I’m just not sure which way to go here. Hopefully, one of our readers will see this Nova and immediately have an epiphany of what needs to happen here, whether it’s as simple as adding some paint or as in-depth as installing a different engine and transmission. Whatever you’ve got in mind, this ’66 Nova is in Mentor, Ohio, and can be viewed here on Facebook Marketplace. The seller has posted an asking price of $5,500, but has also mentioned a best offer possibility, or perhaps a trade- just no junk! Ted, many thanks for sending in the tip here!

My gut says that many potential buyers would prefer a coupe over a sedan, but there is something a bit sporty about this one, despite having four doors instead of two. Perhaps it’s the primer, or the Rally wheels, maybe both. There’s no word on what, if anything, was done to the body before the gray was applied. However, from what I can tell, the panels appear reasonably straight, with no tell-tale signs of any serious corrosion being present. I’m thinking this one might look good painted black or red, but the next owner will have to decide on his or her color preference.

An inline six-cylinder measuring 230 cubic inches is what’s under the hood here, with the seller confirming that the car is presently running and driving. However, he also adds that he wouldn’t take it very far, with no additional follow-up as to why. Buyers who opted for an automatic transmission got the Powerglide, which had two forward gears, and that’s what can be found here. It wouldn’t surprise me if the future owner chose to put a more satisfying combo into this Nova, but maybe that can be down the road, after what life is left in the current pair has been depleted.

Interior views and details are sparse, with just this one picture giving us a peek inside. The small aftermarket steering wheel gives the cabin an element of cool, but I’m envisioning taking out that green bench and installing something more exciting as far as front seating goes, such as a pair of black buckets. I’m feeling something good is in the making here, but again, I’m just uncertain on the specifics. How would you envision moving forward with this 1966 Chevrolet Nova sedan?

I wouldn’t envision moving forward, it is a 4 door and a 6 cylinder and not very inviting cosmetics. There are much better choices!
Sure looks like a clutch pedal to me too.
A small block v8 with a 4 or 5 sod. Stick and a decent paint job and it would make a decent daily driver. $4,000 might be a more realistic price.
IDK, sure looks like a clutch pedal to me. Another great memory, my late ex-father-in-law, had a car just like this. One of my BILs found the car in perfect shape( 1985) and repainted it. He was an odd man, but he loved to play the “little old man” in an old car with a hat. He rarely drove it, and I wonder what ever happened to it? If a Powerglide was swapped, naturally I feel it makes this car much more desirable, and nothing wrong with the 6, leave the 6 alone,,,
No stick so 3 on the tree. I always hated them. I’d switch to floor shifter, maybe 4 speed. A chevy 350 with Edelbrock aluminum heads. Intake and 4 barrel carb would be nice. Those straight 6 engines aren’t really that much more economical that a small block v8. My grandfather had a similar nova II. And I agree price should be around $4k as is now.
the i6 was the merican automotive foundation for 1/2 a century.
Nota cheb guy but like these. 1st 2 gen.s (’62/5 and ’66/7) were not
‘Nova’ less near the end, a name for the II in it’s fancy model only. Give
me the station wagon please (110 inch WB).
Lovely car. 1965-66 has always been my favourite years for the Chevy II (Nova). If only more pics were posted of this car. There’s no such thing as too many pics. Videos should also be shown of the car, to show potential buyers how it runs and drives. I hope this example goes to a good owner.
My first car was a ’67 with a 250 and three-on-the-tree.
I would be interested for the memories. 4K.
crew cab nova @ 5k. maybe 4k. makes me want to sell my 70 crew cab chevelle
What’s is he hidding onn that passanger side? 3500 best and that’s if you can drive it home!
