The American Van craze brought about a new realm of customization, but more importantly, many of these machines became rolling works of art. Featuring a “Riverboat Gambler” theme, this 1977 Chevrolet G20 is a fabulous time warp with incredible detail. With only 76,000 original miles, and the ability to drive it anywhere, this sweet van has been bid up to $8,600. Be sure to check out this awesome custom classic here on eBay out of Scranton, Pennsylvania.
Featuring a multicolored shag carpet that could only have been purchased 40 years ago, this interior is like stepping back in time. The period 8 track player is still in place, but a more modern cd player has been installed below the center console. The carpet and seats are in great shape, and the wood rim steering wheel matches well with the theme and the era.
Looking at the back it is easy to see and appreciate how elaborate this interior really is. The shag is in grand shape, although perhaps not the most appealing color. The ships wheel gambling table is quite fitting along with the unique wood ceiling treatment.
A small micro bar is in place to entertain your guests, and there is even a vintage television with an 8 track rack to keep the high rollers rollin’! A plush theater curtain keeps prying eyes off of the gamblers as they increase their odds exponentially.
A modern-day Michelangelo put his touch on this van and it is truly a masterpiece. Anchors and steamboats adorn this van, and there is an incredible amount of flake and candy paint. There is no rust or damage to be found. In fact, all you need to do is hit the key, and embark on your new journey. Would you captain this groovy ship?
Groovy Baby !! Shagadelic !!! Worth the money if you ever wanted one!
Please tell me the upright area next to the “wet bar” is NOT a bathroom???
I did a fullsize school bus conversion for a customer once and it included a bathroom and mini kitchen. Pretty Cool. Chicago Bears Tailgate Bus. Da’ Bears!!
Buyer, don’t be too enamored and forget to get some underbody photos before throwing down the cash. PA is known for plenty of rust as is this vehicle.
Depending one what it is painted with, that Riverboat scene could easily be replaced with a company/business name etc for advertising. If I had 8K I didnt know what to do with it might go this way ! If it were my company colors I would be REALLY tempted.
Just the vehicle to own where marijuana is legal… ;-)
Seriously, this could be a fun toy for someone.
No I can’t say that I would “captain this ship”. I have to much self respect.
If it were mine, I would gut the interior, paint it white, steel stock wheels and USE it. I have no need of rolling art.
I do need a van at times. I can find better for less and not have deal with ‘art’.
you must be a millennial…
Perfect reply
I would be much easier and cheaper to buy a white cargo van. They are a dime a dozen…
Yes, that’s exactly what I’d do if I were a troll, too.
I could see me and my poker buddies sitting in the back playing 5 card stud, drinking crown & coke smoking our cigarettes or other substances using the dual ashtrays while listening to those Willie Nelson tapes. I could do without the exterior graphics on this one as I like to keep my parties private.
Dude! Love this van!!!!
I wish it weren’t so far away.. I would go check it out. If only I wasn’t in the middle of building a new house. It would be an awesome road trip to bring it back to Texas next Spring! Like my buddy says, “Ifs and Buts were candy and nuts, we’d all have a Merry Christmas!”
The interior colors are actually very subdued for the 70s. Parked next to other vans from the area and it would look positively drab. I love it.
Auction has ended at $9300.00 dollars with the reserve not met.
Ended early ….I bought it on Saturday in person..was for sale locally too …here are some of my 70s vans Ive owned now.
Nice! Thanks for the update.
