This 1967 Oldsmobile 4-4-2 possesses an undeniable “wow” factor. That is understandable, as it has only clocked 2,800 miles since undergoing a meticulous restoration. The builder followed a faithful path, retaining this classic’s original 400ci V8. It is ideal for enthusiasts seeking a turnkey classic they can enjoy immediately. I must say a big thank you to Barn Finder Curvette for spotting the Olds listed here on eBay in Fairfield, Ohio. The seller set their price at $47,500 with the option to make an offer.

Pontiac demonstrated with the GTO that there was money to be made in the high-performance world. Oldsmobile wanted a slice of the pie, shaking off its staid image in 1964 when it released the 4-4-2. The company followed the typical muscle car blueprint, although it aimed its offering at the more well-heeled buyers who typically walked into its showrooms. The First Generation remained in production until 1967, with our feature car leaving the lot that year. The seller indicates that it recently emerged from a frame-off restoration and has covered relatively few miles since. Therefore, the sparkling, flawless condition of its Spanish Red and Provincial White paint is unsurprising. The panels are laser-straight, and the underside shots are equally impressive. There is no evidence of surface corrosion or penetrating rust, indicating this classic should remain structurally sound for many decades. The trim is in as-new condition, and the glass is clear. Rounding out the exterior are Super Stock wheels, wrapped in Redline tires.

Pontiac caught the opposition unprepared with the GTO, and other companies rushed competitors to market, using whatever mechanical components they had on hand. The original 4-4-2 featured a 330ci V8 under the hood, but engine capacity and power output soon increased in subsequent years. This Olds features its numbers-matching 400ci V8, delivering 350hp and 440 ft/lb of torque. Teamed with a four-speed manual transmission, F41 suspension, and power assistance for the steering and brakes, there is no doubting this vehicle’s muscle car credentials. The seller states that this Olds runs and drives perfectly, allowing the new owner to fly in and drive this beauty home.

Oldsmobile marketed the 4-4-2 as a luxurious muscle car, and this 1967 example lives up to that hype. It features air conditioning, a tilt wheel, deluxe seatbelts, and an AM/FM radio. That may not sound spectacular by modern standards, but it was considered pretty impressive when this car rolled off the line. The interior, trimmed in Red vinyl, is as remarkable as you might expect given this classic’s recent history. There is no evidence of wear or other issues, and the overall presentation makes it a trophy contender at any show.

Finding anything to criticize about this 1967 Oldsmobile 4-4-2 is seemingly impossible. From its sparkling paint to the power produced by its V8, it should appeal to classic car enthusiasts who like muscle cars with a touch of luxury. The listings Watch List tally appears healthy, and there is already one active offer. Therefore, if you are irresistibly drawn to this Oldsmobile, you may have a fight on your hands. However, something this good is always worth fighting for. Are you up for that challenge?

What’s not to like.👍400, 4sp, a/c Olds 🏁
I was never been big on the 66/67 Olds but over the years I have slowly come around to appreciate them. While red would not my first choice for an exterior color on a car this 67 does wear the shade well. Paired with the red interior and painted white roof it presents an attractive combination. Looks like a nice car. Rare to see the interior colored floor mats too.
