Some people buy a new car, drive it for a few years, then send it to a new home. Others find the concept of selling their beloved vehicle almost impossible. Such is the case with this 1967 Ford Mustang 2+2. The current owner purchased this classic off a showroom floor in Minneapolis, and it has remained their constant companion for fifty-nine years. However, all good things must end, and the time has come for this Mustang to find a new home. I must say a big thank you to Barn Finder Curvette for spotting this wonderful pony car listed here on Bring a Trailer in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Bidding sits at $14,000 with almost a week left on the listing.

Ford performed its first significant update to the First Generation Mustang in 1967. The car’s dimensions grew slightly as the company sought to fit larger motors under the hood. However, the styling remained faithful to the original pony car concept, looking sleek and purposeful. The owner ordered this ’67 Mustang 2+2 that year, electing to cloak its exterior in Code D Acapulco Blue. The listing indicates that while the vehicle hasn’t suffered any significant accident damage, a minor fender bender in 1968 necessitated dealer-performed repairs to both front fenders. The owner had the wheel wells repaired in 2005, after which the car was repainted in its original shade. It presents nicely, with no major shortcomings. The owner’s decision to add a set of factory chrome wheels enhances to its visual appeal, with the original steelies included in the deal. The underside shots reveal plenty of flaking dry corrosion, but no evidence of gaping rust holes. The trim is in good condition, and there are no visible issues with the tinted glass.

Buyers on a budget could order a ’67 Mustang with a six under the hood. However, this car’s owner selected the C-Code 289ci V8, teamed with a three-speed manual transmission. The car initially featured four-wheel unassisted drum brakes, but the owner later upgraded them to power-assisted front discs, a dual-circuit master cylinder, and stainless steel brake hoses. It has been meticulously maintained throughout its life, receiving a couple of cylinder head refreshes, a new exhaust, and recent carburetor rebuild. The sale includes an enormous collection of documentation, with the original Window Sticker, Owner’s Manual, and Service Records as the highlights. The listing suggests that not only is this Mustang numbers-matching, but also a turnkey proposition ready for summer fun.

This Mustang’s interior is unlikely to win many show trophies, but its condition is comfortably acceptable for a survivor-grade vehicle of this vintage. The Black vinyl generally looks quite good. The driver’s seat exhibits slight wear, as does the carpet. However, the remaining upholstered surfaces and the dash and pad are in good condition. Aftermarket additions include an FM converter for the factory AM radio and a wrap to protect the wheel. The Sport Deck rear seat works as it should, adding to the interior’s versatility.

This 1967 Ford Mustang 2+2 isn’t perfect, but it is a classic with an interesting backstory. Choosing to part with this car must have been one of the most difficult decisions of the current owner’s life, because they are obviously attached to this gem. However, it has generated significant interest, as evidenced by the impressive listing statistics. That interest has only translated into two bids, though there is time for the action to intensify. What do you believe would be a fair price for this Mustang?
