Rare Tor Edition: 1982 Range Rover

Early Range Rovers have been on the upward trajectory for quite some time, to the point that savvy sellers are now looking for pristine gray market examples to sell stateside. As it stands right now, early U.S. models are pulling strong money, but the real jackpot is with two-door models that rarely pop up for sale in the lower 48. Find it here on eBay with a Buy-It-Now of $28,000 or best offer and the listing ending tonight. (more…)

    Parked For 30 Years: 1976 Triumph TR6

If you want a British Sports car that you can comfortably daily drive, the Triumph TR-6 is a great choice. It has decent legroom, the inline-six provides enough power to keep up with modern traffic, the 4-speed with overdrive offers enough gearing to comfortably travel at highway speeds, and parts supply is fantastic. The one seen here has been parked for close to 30 years in the original owner’s Massachusetts garage. It’s going to need work after being parked, but with a current bid of just $3,000, it could prove to be a great project. You can find it here on eBay in Holliston, Massachusetts.

Ready To Go: 1956 MG MGA Roadster

UPDATE 5/13/2020 – We just heard from the seller of this MGA and the winner of the auction backed out, so they have relisted this beautiful car here on eBay! Be sure to take another look at it and cast your high bid.

FROM 5/2/2020 – When the cover was slipped off the MGA for the first time at the 1955 Frankfurt Motor Show, the car caused an immediate sensation. It marked a turning point in styling from MG because never had the company produced a car that was so low, so svelte, and so aerodynamic. Built between 1955 and 1962, it also marked, at that point, the model with the longest production run in the company’s history. The seller of this 1956 model is offering it on behalf of its current owner, an individual who has treated the MGA to a major refurbishment during the 13-years that he has owned it. This British classic is located in San Carlos, California, and has been listed for sale here on Barn Finds classifieds. (more…)

  • 1969 Pontiac GTO The Judge 4-Speed Survivor!

1969 Pontiac GTO The Judge 4-Speed Survivor!

Nearly everyone with a pulse in the late ’60s enjoyed the benefits of Detroit’s performance wars. Performance was only part of the allure, though, and manufacturers raced to give consumers special performance-oriented packages. Plymouth had the Roadrunner. Mercury had the Eliminator, and Pontiac came to market with The Judge, a $332 option package on its already popular GTO. This 1969 Pontiac GTO “The Judge” comes to market after last having been registered in 1975! The listing here on eBay describes it as an all-numbers matching never-restored survivor. Did I mention this 31,000 mile specimen runs “like a clock” and drives? Given all the good news, it’s no surprise that at least 15 bidders have driven the market value of this sweet GTO above $37,000.

From 3/21/20 – It appears that time travel is beyond we mere humans, but slipping behind the wheel of this 1936 Ford DeLuxe 3-Window Coupe might be the next best thing. • Is It A Mod Top? 1969 Plymouth Sport Satellite

Is It A Mod Top? 1969 Plymouth Sport Satellite

There were 15,807 Plymouth Sport Satellite two-door hardtops produced in 1969. The model was similar to the more noteworthy GTX but did not offer quite the performance — which means it may be a bargain today, especially if as I suspect it may be the rare “Mod Top” edition. This particular Sport Satellite is located in Lenexa, Kansas and is listed for sale here on craigslist. The asking price for the B-body is $5,000 and the seller has some GTX parts on offer as well if you wish to turn it into a clone. • Big 10 Survivor: 23K Mile 1980 Chevy C-10

    Big 10 Survivor: 23K Mile 1980 Chevy C-10

This 1980 Chevrolet C10 pickup is a desirable “Big 10” edition with under 25,000 original miles. The Big 10 package was a bit of marketing genius on the part of GM, which offered the trim level as a way to sell a heavy-duty half ton pickup with no catalytic converters. The seller notes it remains true to factory condition and shows no major alterations from stock, and that the previous owner used it as a summer driver in Minnesota and then wintered in Florida, protecting its sheetmetal from the snow and slop. Today, it comes with all of its original books and sales purchase paperwork and is listed here on eBay with bidding to $8,700 and no reserve. (more…)

  • Roy Rogers Approved: 1967 Nissan Patrol

Roy Rogers Approved: 1967 Nissan Patrol

More than a few people may be surprised to hear that the King of Cowboys, Roy Rogers, loved Nissan’s trucks and their 4×4 Patrol in particular. He loved them so much that he was a spokesman for the company in the early-1960s touting their rugged SUVs. This 1967 Nissan Patrol would have looked right at home on the Double Bar R Ranch but it can be found here on eBay in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. The seller has a $13,800 buy-it-now price or you can make an offer. Let’s saddle up and check out this Patrol.

  • Desirable Color Combo: 1968 Porsche 912

Desirable Color Combo: 1968 Porsche 912

Another day, another Porsche 912. This 1968 model has a great backstory, far better than its poor black repaint would suggest. The 912 left the factory wearing Tangerine paint, one of the more desirable and period-correct colors you could choose when buying one new. This example started its life in Pennsylvania but shortly thereafter moved to the much more pleasant climate of Honolulu. The 912 today is back in the U.S. and while it has acquired some rust in that time, it’s still a great foundation. Find it here on craigslist for $19,900. (more…)

  • Field Find: 1979 Chevrolet Corvette L82

Field Find: 1979 Chevrolet Corvette L82

After about 1972, Corvettes have a tendency to get lost in the shuffle. Their renowned power wasn’t too renowned anymore as it trended downwards and the styling became more generic. The ‘Vette experienced stronger than ever sales success but it lacked the panache of earlier years. After the big block 454 engine was dropped from the Corvette line-up at the end of ’74, the two-seater still had a trick up its sleeve in terms of the L82 engine – more on that to follow. And low and behold, here is a 1979 example just so equipped. It is located in Front Royal, Virginia, and available here on craigslist for $4,000. Thanks to Rocco B. for this tip!
