There were three series offered with the 1955-57 “Tri-Five” Chevrolets. They were the 150, 210, and Bel Air. The 210 was the mid-range model in terms of trim and included a variety of body styles except for a convertible. This included a 4-door station wagon like the seller’s non-running example. It has rust on the lower extremities, and the seller acknowledges that some floorboard work is needed. The interior also has issues, though we get no photos. Located in Renton, Washington, this 1957 210 is available here on craigslist for $6,500. Heads up to Tony Primo for the tip!

In 1957, you could get two versions of the 4-door 210 station wagon. The Townsman was a six-passenger wagon with trim like the sedans, while the Beauville was still considered a 210 but came with seating for nine and trim more like that of the Bel Air. Sales were 129,000 units vs. 24,000, and we conclude the seller’s wagon is the more popular Townsman. No history is provided about the seller’s edition.

We’re told this is a V8 wagon, which could be 265 or 283 cubic inches if original (no photos; the seller does not pop the hood or open any of the doors). The mileage is at least 75,000 as the odometer has quit working. Since the wagon has an automatic transmission, we assume it’s a 2-speed Powerglide.

From what we can tell, the doors and rocker panels have some degree of corrosion. You’ll need to replace the floorboards on the front passenger side, at a minimum. We’re told the interior needs to be restored, “but is there-steering wheel.” What does that mean? You’re going to have to tow it home because the Chevy doesn’t run, but it would be nice to know whether the engine is locked up or turns freely.

Seems reasonably priced. I was bidding in an auction for one that was a lot worse than this recently. Bidding ended at 3200. Nice write up.
Hey, it has the original steering wheel
If a guy likes doing body work this ’57 is for him.
Lots of exterior photos but only one thru the window of interior, none of V-8 engine compartment or showing much rust thru. Likely reasonable but needs inspection?
The kind of photos shown are usually indicative of hiding something major.
Seems to be something missing from this story… What is the deal with the pics?
Wonder if the seller would say to his/her significant other, “I tried to sell it!”
most likely a 283, the 265 was only available with a three speed stick in 57.
Worth checking out if one’s close by. We grew up in this car’s brother. It was 6 banger 3 on the tree and 9 passenger. There were 10 of us (8 kids) so all seats were used weekly.
This is another car I’d love to have if I had a garage to work on it.
Was just talking about this one or one like it to my West Dallas buddy as this one was sitting off Bernal Street in the barrio. I stopped often to talk to the older guy – looked like he had no one stopping by put did finally meet his yound nephew. It was a shack of a place and the funny thing is he had put a load of dirt right behind it – to keep it getting taken. He passed and although I did catch his son there – it was still not for sale. Would end up sending a letter or two – one certified as the years passed and it sat with the house getting ranscaked…..then one day it was gone. That blue still was shinning bright like this one….
