Rare Classic! 1964 Cadillac Fleetwood Series 75 Limo

If there’s anywhere on earth where a giant yellow vintage Cadillac limousine will fit right in, it’s Las Vegas. That’s where this 1964 Caddy Fleetwood Series 75 limo currently resides and probably would get some attention cruising up and down The Strip. Being offered for sale by Collector’s Dream Cars in Las Vegas, the car can be found here on eBay with an asking price of $8,964 and here on their website with an asking price of $5,996. I guess if you are interested in this one, you better contact them to make an offer! Let’s take a closer look at this boat and thanks to Jamie for the tip on this one!

Here you can see just how long this car is. According to carfolio.com, this car measures over twenty feet long and weighs nearly 5,000 pounds!

The driver’s area looks pretty standard with nice black upholstery and black trim. The door panels match the seat cover and other than a little TLC, it doesn’t look like it needs too much. The passenger compartment is where things get interesting. The middle seat is a “jump seat” that folds down flat against the front seat or can be folded backward to accommodate more passengers. The rear seat is very roomy when the jump seat is folded forward. This car would pretty easily carry eight passengers plus the driver.

The engine is described in the ad as a 7.0-liter V8 which translates to 429 cubic inches. Rated at 340 horsepower and 480 lb-ft. of torque, it is a great power plant for this big car. Unfortunately, there isn’t much information in the eBay listing or on the seller’s own website regarding the history of the car or the mechanical condition.

Here you can see the biggest flaw of the exterior. There are two big spots of paint missing on the trunk lid. It’s not clear from the photos exactly what caused the damage. It could have been body filler that was applied too thick and eventually cracked and came off or it could have been some sort of repair that wasn’t completed. Overall, this looks like a nice project if you are in the market for a vintage limousine. What do you think of this big beast?

Hmmm….sketchy bodywork, rust holes, horrid color repaint, missing fender skirt, el cheapo black wall tires; Yes it would draw attention, just like a teen age beauty queen 50 years past her glory days, who sadly hasn’t realized it yet!! A joke at $6k, let alone $9k. Just my opinion,of course! :-)

If you paid me $5000 to take it, I would have to think about it…..

I have a spare roll of masking tape I would have given to the painter. Too bad it needs so much . I had a 64 coupe and I loved that car!

Actually, yellow is probably a good base color for a respray in gold…which could keep it in Vegas…please…

There is nothing more sad than a beautiful elegant car that has been abused.

I have always been a fan of 60’s fleetwoods, and the series 75 had a significant spot in society , but I’d rather have a 60 special, preferably a 66. This needs a lot, but could still be made into a nice cruiser.

What’s with that color? Was it a school bus for rich kids?

I find it interesting that Cadillac used the central body structure of the 1959 Fleetwood 75 through 1965. In spite of the low volume, they updated the styling to match other Cadillacs every year except 1965. c

I wondered about that. Funny seeing an otherwise ’64 model with a ’59/’60 wrap-around windshield.

My kid brother traded his waterbed, his fish tank, (complete with
fishes) and $250 cash for one of these back in ’81. If you compared both cars, this one would win hands down. My brother’s car was the pits from day one. If there was a problem,
that poor car had it. It was about three miles from my house when the tranny started slippin’. We barely got back to my place
when it took a crap all over the side street in front of my house.
And when the smoke cleared, he looked at me with those puppy
dog eyes and said “You can fix it, can’t you?” Well, I fixed it alright. I called a friend of mine who owned a classic car dealership who was looking to sell a ’72 Pinto Squire wagon he took in as a partial trade on another car. Wound up trading the
limo and $50 for the Pinto. Problem solved. My folks were happy, my brother had something reliable to drive, and my buddy? Well, he redid the limo and made a killing renting it out
for prime and weddings. And they all lived happily ever after.

Lol..I know it was the right thing to do but if I was your kid brother I’d still be plotting revenge for trading my Cadillac limo for a Ford Pinto station wagon!😠

Like a lot of other people I’m not sure whether school bus yellow works for this car, but I’d have to say it was born ugly. That kneeknocker windshield has no business being on a 1964 car and only Cadillac’s reversion to ’59-60 themes for the “regular” 63-4 front clip keeps it from being obviously a facelift too far.

What a large POS, you’d have to be nuts to buy this. That colour reminds me of something you’d find in a baby’s diaper. Move along nothing to see here move along.

William, he finally did thank me. Took him 20 years to do it but
he did. We lost him to diabetes in 2005. We had a good laugh about the limo too. I’d just gotten home from a six week road trip when he brought the car by my house for me to look at. All
I wanted to do was rest up and spend time with my wife. I didn’t
find out til after he passed that he used to tell people that he did
business with that if things aren’t right, he’d send his big brother
over to give ’em the business. Turns out that I knew most of the
folks he did business with so if he had a beef with any of them,
I’d just call ’em and find out what the problem really was. After a few beers with them, I was usually able to solve whatever
problem he might’ve had to everyone’s satisfaction. Guess I did
something right when I fixed the limo problem.

To quote Amy Winehouse…” Back to Black”.and quick! My eyes hurt. Damn shame.

I had a ’60 division window with the cursed knee knocker windshield. I got tired of driving folks while they,,,,(cough cough) used illegal substances in the rear and there always seemed to be a pair of high heels up against the glass. I was too intent on keeping my eyes on the road to see what was going on.

So sad this limo is so trashed. But 64 was not really a good looking car anyway.

This would be a great project. Not just one I am able to take on.

There was a beat up DEAD rusty black 85 sitting in Poughkeepsie in 1988 which I used to pass every day while attending Marist College as a commuter student. I finally stopped to look at it and it was just $1,500. I was all set to pull the trigger on it when it was SOLD.

Flash forward to 1994. By this time, I had secured a 1951 DeSoto Limo, and an 86 Fleetwood 54″ stretch and I see a white 65 Caddy Limo in upstate NY. I leave a message for the guy and wouldn’t you know it that it was the same limo and he had fixed it up. SO I drove like 7 hours each way up to near Potsdam NY where he lived to take it out for a test drive. He had fixed it up but it was still a mess and would have needed a full tear down to be 100% so I passed, but he was taking it out to do illicit wedding work.

Ended up getting back here at like 1:20 AM after leaving at 10 in the morning. Got to see a lot of the Adirondack Region of NYS on the blue roads after getting off the Northway (I-87) halfway up to Canada.

I would look into dumping the gas thirty motor for something else that could be more fuel efficient and provide plenty of power to haul this around.

So many of these got destroyed recently in the TV show Gotham that I think the pool of Formal Caddies was depleted by half
