While it started its life cruising the roads of England, this BMW 735i SE has called Pennsylvania home since 2016. The BMW looks like it is in really nice condition, and it comes with a very comprehensive service history and records, including every receipt dating back to “day 1” of ownership back in 1990. If you would really like to own a European luxury car that is capable of eating up the miles in an eerie sense of quiet, then this BMW is located in West Chester, Pennsylvania, and listed for sale here on eBay.
While it looks really good, the 735i isn’t perfect. There are a few minor marks and chips on the paint, which is hardly surprising in a car that is 29-years-old. The worst issue is this peeling just above the gas cap door. Otherwise, the original black paint looks really good. Some of the really interesting features of the car include the Zender rear spoiler (which is factory original), the 15×7 sports wheels, which are “Style 4,” and were never offered in the USA, and a factory sunroof.
Under the hood is the 3.5-liter straight-six engine. This is a silky-smooth engine which produces 208hp and is capable of pushing the BMW to an electronically limited top speed of 155 mph. The car is also fitted with all of the gadgets that you would expect from a luxury car, including anti-lock brakes, stability control, and hill descent control. The owner also has all of the documentation and receipts for every service right back to when the car was new.
The interior of this 735i is an area where the car really does shine. Full red leather upholstery was a factory option that the original owner chose, and it looks soft and sumptuous. The leather looks to be in really good condition, as does the rest of the interior trim. Since the photos were taken, the aftermarket CD player fitted to the car has been removed, and an OEM radio/casette and CD player has been returned to their rightful place. The luxury continues, with power seats, power windows, power locks, cruise control, and air conditioning. The only issue to deal with is the fact that the A/C does require a recharge.
This BMW 735i SE is an interesting car, as the “SE” version was never sold in the USA. The condition of the car is extremely good, with only a couple of minor issues to be addressed to make it close to perfect. The fact that it comes with such a comprehensively documented history is extremely encouraging, as correct maintenance is essential to the longevity of such a complex vehicle. The owner has set a BIN price of $8,200 for the BMW, but the option is there to make an offer. Considering the overall condition and history of the car, I suspect that it will soon be going to a new home.
Red leather is very unusual option. I love these and keep close eye on the market. Rarely see red .. I have a thing for red leather..
Red leather and sports seats, VERY unusual, they are great cars, very usable,
I have owned at least three 750i V12 versions, one was a sport with those seats, only problem was the fuel consumption as a daily driver……..
Has the car actually been registered in PA?
I don’t see a PA or any inspection sticker on the windshield. I smell possible trouble brewing at the BMV.
Does Military status exemption apply to a new owner?
Yes 25+ years old is usually exempt however……….not all cars and not always.
I didn’t understand the value of maintenance records until I bought a Porsche . . . what’s been done? When was it done? Records from “Day 1” would be a big plus!
In reference to landt’s comment regarding maintenance records. Did anyone LOOK at the list of what was done and what the costs associated with the repairs?! Fuel tank? Brake overhaul (multiple)? Suspension overhaul? Trans rebuild? The prices associated? The bigger eye opener, the MILEAGE that these repairs occurred !!!!!! BMW’s are NOT inexpensive to buy NOR to maintain!!!!!!!! They ARE an absolute blast to drive!!!! All of this from someone who owns one!!!!! Absolute LOVE (to drive) HATE (to pay the bills) relationship!!!!!!!
