Low shots. Is there any better angle from which to photograph a C3 Corvette? It accentuates the car’s low and aggressive styling, adding to the visual impact of any listing. It is the approach chosen by the seller of this 1969 ‘Vette, but the listing confirms it is more than a pretty face. The rebuilt big-block under the hood ensures that this beauty has the muscle to match its looks. I must say a big thank you to Barn Finder Jack M. for spotting the Corvette listed here on Craigslist in North Denver, Colorado. The seller set their price at $36,000 for what is an extremely tidy driver-grade classic.

After receiving a warm reception upon its 1968 release, the C3 Corvette set a new sales record of 38,462 vehicles in 1969. The C3 remains one of those rare vehicles to enjoy global recognition in silhouette form, a feat it shares with the Volkswagen Beetle and the original Mini. The seller states that this Cortez Silver example has received one repaint, which may be when it also received the subtle lower rear fender flares. Otherwise, the exterior is unmodified, and the fiberglass is in good condition. I can’t spot any stress cracks or other concerns, and the listing suggests the frame and birdcage are solid. The seller describes the paint as a “20 footer,” suggesting that an in-person inspection (which they actively encourage) will reveal chips and marks. However, there is no patchiness, with the car presenting nicely as a result. The trim and glass look comfortably acceptable for a driver-grade classic of this vintage, while the Rally wheels and their associated hardware are excellent.

It is worth noting early that this Corvette isn’t numbers-matching. The first owner ordered it with the L36 version of the 427ci V8, placing 390hp and 460 ft/lbs of torque beneath the driver’s right foot. That motor is long gone, with its spot beneath the hood occupied by a later, rebuilt 454. It sends its power to a 3.36 Posi rear end via a three-speed Turbo Hydramatic transmission. The first owner also specified power steering and power brakes, making life behind the wheel pretty effortless. Potential buyers can consider this a turnkey classic. The seller states that it is ready for cruising, joy rides, or trips to the drive-in. Wherever it goes, the Corvette will receive admiring looks.

This Corvette’s greatest strength could be its interior. Ordered in Saddle leather, the seller recently installed new seatcovers and a carpet set. The remaining upholstered surfaces look great for their age, and there are no significant issues with the dash or console. I can’t spot any aftermarket additions to the interior, which features a tilt/telescopic wheel and an AM/FM radio. The seller states that everything works as it should, including the clock, which is a minor victory itself.

Chrome-bumper C3 Corvettes remain one of the stars of the classic market, and many enthusiasts are drawn to them due to the styling purity that vanished with the advent of the urethane bumpers. Of course, the fact that these are typically the most potent vehicles to wear the iconic badge helps their cause enormously. This 1969 example isn’t original, but it is ideal for someone seeking a turnkey vehicle offering immediate motoring pleasure. It has only been on the market for a few days, but how quickly do you think it will find a new home?

If a Vette has only 2 pedals.. this is the motor I’d want in there. What a fine GT highway car it must be. 🏁
Looks alone will sell this one. GM sure knocked it out of the park with this one.
