Ford’s popular “pony car,” the Mustang, got its first facelift in 1967. The biggest change was perhaps under the hood where room and infrastructure would permit engines as large as a 390 cubic inch V8. This ’67 fastback wasn’t so ambitious, as the VIN indicates a 289 was there from the factory. Most of the important hardware is now gone, so the car is a shell that’s waiting for someone to save it. Located in Lebanon, Missouri, this ambitious project is available here on eBay. The bidding has reached $10,100, yet the reserve is unmet.
The 1967 model year would be the first time that Mustang saw a year-over-year sales drop (472,000 vs. 607,000 copies). But the car finally had major competition in the form of the Chevy Camaro, Pontiac Firebird, and (even from in-house) Mercury Cougar. More than 72,000 copies would be fastbacks like the seller’s “car” as the body style was becoming increasingly popular. The mileage is indicated as 655,852, but there’s likely a decimal point that’s been excluded.
This Ford was once white in color, but it’s sort of like an American flag now with the colors red and blue also added in. We’re told that parts of the body and chassis are still rust-free, but corrosion or dents will require new rear quarter panels and floorboards (big, gaping holes present in the latter). The car is devoid of any chrome, interior components, and even a hood. However, since the drivetrain is gone, you have the option of putting in almost any engine/transmission combination. Project cars come in various degrees of complexity, and this one will be challenging (and expensive).
I usually hang out with intelligent, talented people in the car game but I think I’d stay away from whoever buys this thing for whatever on the moon price it appears to be going for.

Did he write this laughing?

Red, White and…..Broke.
Even at the current bid, no matter what the reserve, not even worth driving the 160 miles to take a look.
Sounds like some one is gonna switch tags and commit a felony
Scrap metal
I agree with Robert, this one should go to the crusher.
Rust, white and blue.
