Fallon, Nevada is known mostly for fighter aircraft and dust. Business is thriving in the strip malls along Highway 50 through town, but the old downtown is mostly empty storefronts. The parking lot of one closed business has an interesting assortment of cars, including these BMWs. It appears it was an auto repair shop and is now for sale. Fallon is not the sort of place you expect to see a bunch of BMWs. These cars were there for the last Google Earth photo drive by so they have been here for some time. These might be just a bunch of the usual old BMWs, but perhaps our readers that are well versed in BMWs might find some of these interesting. There are several 3 series cars, but what are the two black cars on the left?
Here’s a 633 CSi from the mid-1970s to the early 1980s. These had the six-cylinder M30 engine as I recall with about 200 horsepower.
These BMWs are packed so tight you can’t see much of them. Perhaps our sharp-eyed readers can tell us what we have here. It is certainly odd to see these BMWs in a town full of dusty pickup trucks. There is no BMW dealership in Fallon. Perhaps these BMWs belonged to Air Force personnel who brought them when they were transferred to Fallon and then left them behind.
There are many abandoned cars around town. This 1958 Thunderbird has been sitting here for awhile. It will be interesting to see what our readers think of the BMWs. Perhaps someone knows the story behind them.

They’re Volvo seats.
I have owned 4 of these lovely coupes starting with a 630CSI, and the idea that somebody would put Volvo seats in a BMW tickles me to death. The philosophical difference between the mindset of a Vulva owner and a BMW owner, would to me be like attempting to mix oil and water.
In the world of anything is possible, I can accept it but I am ROTF LMAO. I wonder what his tag line would be, the drivers car for the “very safe”?

I now know where old broken down BMW’s go to die. Having owned and sold a BMW I know how much the cost of ownership of these are. Fun ? yes. Expensive ? Yes
Well………..my 95 E36 318 convertible bought new is staring down the gun of 328,000 miles…….cruising to 400,000 miles. Just bought an 01 E46 5 speed wagon. I love E36 and 46’s..also had an E30 325is…..should have held on to that because good ones are looking at ten grand. It helps to know folks who know Bmw’s………….:)
Mountainwoodie, I think e30’s are definitely going to be the next to shoot up in value with e36’s next. Look anywhere on the net and people are already struggling to find a clean unmolested e36 that hasn’t been riced out turned into a drift car. I have a ’94 325 ‘vert that I admittedly over-maintain, but is an absolute joy to drive.
I recall the owner of this place for years saying he was going to start some sort of business. I don’t think the cars or parts from them were ever for sale because he was constantly in the mode of “almost.” The burnt-orange colored E24 appeared on Facebook a few days ago by a passer-by asking how much it was worth; it does have the desirable rear headrest option. There were many opportunities for these cars to find new homes over the years; hopefully, it will finally happen.
And they ALL leak oil.
Forget the BMW’s and other foreign cars for a bit. Let’s talk about the T-Bird! This was one of my dream cars.
What, if any, is the potential of finding out more about this treasure of BMW’s. My heart raced when I read the story. I want to know more. Please!
