Sitting on farmland in Holland, Ohio are six first-generation Ford Mustangs, beginning with the “64 ½” introductory model and concluding with a drop-top from 1968. All will need some degree of work, and two of them are so bad due to body damage that they would only serve as parts car. But there could be enough here to come up with a couple of good machines if you mixed and matched stuff between them. They’re part of the “John & Shelley Myers Collection” and are available here on ProxiBid. None of them have been bid past $1,200 so far. Thanks for the tip, Jack C.!
1964.5 Ford Mustang (Coupe)
This is the oldest one in the group. Contrary to popular belief, there was no 1964 ½ Mustang when the car debuted in April 1964. They were all titled as 1965s through the next year. Some changes occurred along the way; for example, early Mustangs had a 260 cubic inch V8, while later ones got the 289 like this one which is said to be a “rare D-Code” that’s numbers matching. It also has a 4-speed manual transmission. Current Bid: $550.
1968 Ford Mustang (Convertible)
As a drop-top, this Mustang may have the greatest restoration potential. It, too, has a 289 V8 but with an automatic transmission. It runs and drives, whereas the others don’t claim that capability. The ’68 models were in the second year after a mild restyle and differed slightly from the ’67s with add-ons like side marker lights. Current Bid: $1,200.
1966 Ford Mustang (Coupe)
Here’s the clean slate in the group. We’re told all the sheet metal is new and most of what used to be a red Mustang now wears fresh primer grey. There are tons of parts and pieces in the passenger compartment, so it’s a guess whether there’s a complete automobile here. It comes with a V8 engine, which is not pictured. Current Bid: $500.
1965 Ford Mustang (Coupe)
Not much information is available to go with this car. It also has a 289 V8, this time with a 3-speed manual. Unlike the convertible, it’s a project that’s going to need a lot of work. Current Bid: $550.
1965 Ford Mustang (Coupe-Red)
One of two wrecked cars that are at best donors for parts. The 289 V8 and automatic transmission might be usable, but it has no title and will only change hands with a bill of sale. Current Bid: $400.
1967 Ford Mustang (Coupe)
The other wrecked car and this one was really whacked good. Just transporting it will be a challenge. Not sure if the 289/automatic drivetrain can be saved and it has no title, either. Just a bill of sale. Current Bid: $250.
Run, run away ASAP!!! Move on, there is nothing to see here!!!
