Striking Looking: 1959 Ford F-100

If you are looking for a really nice older pickup, then this 1959 Ford F-100 might be just the vehicle for you. It has so far attracted some strong interest, but it is definitely worth taking a look at. You will find this Ford listed for sale here on eBay. It is located in Jackson, Mississippi, and is offered for sale with a clear title. Strong bidding has seen the price reach $4,617 at the time of writing, although the reserve has not been met.

This is a really nice looking pickup, and it appears to be a vehicle that you could climb into and enjoy immediately. It is a striking looking pickup, and it is really hard to fault it. There may be some tiny spots of rust visible in the lower corners of the tailgate, but that is virtually it. The bed is clean, and the paint shines nicely. There are some nice little details that help the Ford to stand out just that bit. One of those subtle little details is the chrome trim rings on the wheels. They aren’t over the top, but they just give it that little edge. The only other real flaw is a crack in the driver’s door glass, and given the condition of the rest of the pickup, I would probably be inclined to replace this. There are a number of shots of the floors and frame, and the pickup certainly appears to be nice and solid.

The interior presents nearly as well as the exterior. The only thing that I would be inclined to do in here would be to give the carpet a deep clean and then install some good quality mats to protect it afterward. The upholstery on the seat isn’t original, but it is in good condition, as is the headliner. Apart from the cover on the wheel, the rest of the interior is original, and it looks like a nice place to spend some time.

The engine isn’t immaculate, but it is clean and tidy. That’s the original 292ci V8, which is hooked to a manual transmission. The owner states that the Ford runs and drives well, and the only thing that he is negative about is the fact that the dust cover is missing off the flywheel. Still, that’s pretty easy to fix. The tires are virtually new, and all of the lights, etc, work exactly as they should.

We’ve seen a few older pickups recently here at Barn Finds, but the majority of these have been project cars. This F-100 is complete and ready to go. The condition looks really good, and it is quite a striking looking old Ford. There is no doubt that it would stand out wherever you took it.

I always liked these trucks ever since I was a kid. I still prefer them over Chevys of this year. And, there’s something iconic about those big FORD letters across the tailgate.

Not usually a fan of this blue, but it really suits this old Ford. Over the years, I’ve become a die-hard (old) Ford truck guy and this body style has really grown on me… I think owing to their scarcity, as much as their aesthetics. Someone is going to take away a very sweet truck, with little to do but enjoy.

Truck looks sweet and genuine. Only thing I see is he says it has dual exhausts; I see the single exhaust and crossover pipe in the pics. It will be interested to see what this beauty brings. Good luck to the new owner.

It’s a dual outlet muffler and two tailpipes. The e-Bay photos show it. Doesn’t seem worth the bother.

Al. Please use at least a little amount of punctuation, reading your comments without it requires a couple of reads to comprehend it!
This is a prestigious sight .

Seeing the interior pic brings back memories. My (future) father-in-law (a great guy) was a brick and block mason, and I worked for him a couple summers during high school. He had one of these Fords for a work truck, except it was a F250 and had a 4-speed. I can see him driving it — left foot working the heavy clutch, right foot working the brake and gas, left hand on the huge steering wheel (no power steering, if I remember), right hand on the stiff shifter, leaving…. no hands to tend to his usually-present cigarette.

    Nice truck.

Nice old Ford, I too prefer the old 50s Fords to the GMs.

Considering these were used hard & driven into the dirt (literally) it’s nice to see such a nicely restored example come up for sale. If anything, I probably see more stepside 250’s than fleetside 100s, but usually not many of either. Unlike today, mfrs. sold far more pass. cars than pickups. It’s nice to see such a clean, utilitarian pickup like this that ISN’T a loaded $55K dreamboat like one ones built today.

The color is all so wrong on this truck! That color wasn’t even made until the mid 60s! Nice truck, lousy paint job!

The original was a robins egg blue, my neighbor bought a new one. 8 year old me would sit in it and “drive”.

You may love the color it’s just wrong on this truck! That color is grabber blue which was made for Mustangs! That’s why I said I don’t like the paint! It would look better with a period correct color on it! JMHO

This tuck belonged to me a few years ago. I sold it because I wanted more of a custom truck and didn’t want to mess up an original truck as nice as this one. I’m not sure where they came up with some of the information but it was NOT a barn find. It had been sitting in a man’s driveway for several years when I bought it. It would run but just barley enough to load it on a trailer. It had 20″ rims and wide tires, it also had moss growing on the paint. I cleaned the paint removed some pin stripes bought new rims & tires and rebuilt the carb. I added a front bumper and the letters on the tailgate. I drove it for a couple years and really enjoyed it and have often regretted selling it. A friend used it in a music video. You can watch it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iTdr_N31m5U
