Supercharged Luxury: 2004 Buick Park Avenue Ultra

Although the name had been around at Buick for quite some time, the Park Avenue didn’t earn its place as a separate model in the brand’s lineup until 1991, and that was only after the popular Electra was discontinued.  Manufacturing carried on in the United States until 2005, with the luxurious car available only as a 4-door model throughout both generations of production.  For those wanting additional pampering, stepping up to the top-of-the-line Ultra trim level got buyers an even more opulent interior.  However, its most distinctive feature was under the hood, as the bay housed a supercharged V6 from 1992 onward, as seen in this 2004 Buick Park Avenue Ultra here on Facebook Marketplace.  This one is priced at $14,800 and located in Phoenix, Arizona, with a big Barn Finds thank you going out to reader rmward for finding it and sending in the tip here!

From a comfort standpoint, the base Park Avenue was a fine offering and good enough for most buyers, especially those primarily focused on its luxurious features.  However, the only engine available was a naturally aspirated 3.8-liter V6.  Choosing the Ultra was the only way to increase the airflow, and that package included a supercharged V6, with the Series II now up to 240 horsepower by 2004.  The seller says the engine here runs exactly as it should, and this one is also a low-mileage example, with the 67,600 reading on the odometer stated to be actual.

It’s also a positive that this Buick is said to have had only one owner and claimed to have been exceptionally well cared for, with the seller describing this Ultra as one of the cleanest of its kind in the country.  Outside, the paint is reported to still shine beautifully and is rated as a level 9 on a 10-point scale.  The body also appears to be nicely preserved, and if the car has been in the Arizona area for a long period, that’s good too, as it’s typically a friendly climate for sheet metal longevity.  Another perk the Ultra provided over the base Park Avenue was a set of sporty alloy wheels, and it’s great to see that they’re still present.

The interior here could be considered the poster child for everything hoped for in a mid-2000s luxury sedan, with the Ultra offering premium leather seats and real wood accents.  This one’s absolutely loaded with accessories, including power windows, seats, plus a power sunroof.  It also features a factory-installed premium sound system with both cassette and CD players, the latter holding 12 of your favorite discs at a time.  This Buick isn’t exactly cheap, but I’m certainly finding very little not to like here, and this one seems to be a fine and extremely plush cruiser.  What are your thoughts on this 2004 Park Avenue Ultra?
