The Camaro debuted in 1967 as Chevrolet’s answer to the enormously popular Ford Mustang. It quickly became the second-best-selling “pony car” and held that position for many years. The Z28 was added to enable the Camaro to compete in the SCCA’s Trans Am racing division, which limited engine displacement to 302 cubic inches. The seller’s 1969 Camaro is such a car, minus parts of its potent V8. Located in a garage in Guyton. Georgia, this rolling project is available here on Facebook Marketplace for $25,000. Thanks for this latest tip, Patrick S!
Street Z28s were a rare commodity, with only 602 copies produced in 1967. Demand increased, and the assemblies grew to 7,199 the next year. By 1969, the car was a full-blown success, and 20,302 units were delivered to waiting buyers. They were all powered by a Chevy V8 that was only used in the Z28, producing 290 hp. From 1970 forward, SCCA relaxed the Trans Am requirements, and future Z28s used a 350 motor.
This example once wore LeMans Blue paint, but it and much of the sheet metal have succumbed to time and perhaps Mother Nature. While the engine compartment is devoid of inhabitants, the original is MIA, and the factory 4-speed transmission is somewhere in the garage. The shifter linkage is still there, as is the 12-bolt rear end from ’69. A roll cage can be seen, indicating this Camaro was on the track way back when.
The seller, who professes to be in no hurry to sell the Chevy, hence the price sounds firm, and no trades will be entertained. While no interior is seen in the pics, lots of loose hardware is lying about. Such as a 302 block and related hardware, a radio, suspension components, and a full AMD replacement floor pan. The seller isn’t interested in parting anything out, and the buyer will have a lot of work ahead of him/her.

Mechanic’s special ? 💰 🔧 🔨
More like a bankers special.
Sheesh
The rust has rust !
Rust bug got to this one along time ago
A weekend project. 😂😂
The rust bug got this one!
This Z28 will accept some very large speakers in the window tray as the tin worms 🐛 have been busy.
My 69 Rally Z28 had pioneer coaxial 6x9s with no rust back in the 1900’s. 😎
Those were the days
of youth without social media where weekend drag races staid in the local crowds without incriminating evidence living on forever..😉
It’s restorable to a NOM car but not at the “bargain day” price listed.
Good luck on the sale
Fortunately it was a Pro-street car 20+ years ago, so the galvanized steel wheel tubs didn’t rust out.
Unfortunately it was a Pro-street car 20+ years ago.
Another gem, Barnfinds should get Dynacorn and AMD to advertise.
Why does it have two tachs??
As my English friend says, “I wouldn’t touch this with a ten-foot barge pole”!!!
Something’s are better left alone. Especially at 25 grand.
Why does it have two tachs?
As my English friend would say, “I wouldn’t touch this with a ten-foot barge pole”!!
I see three tachs the factory one on the column and one on the hood
Just use flex seal!
25k? LMAO
$25grand for a rusted out POS that would cost a boatload of cash to restore…….and then you’d have a restored rust bucket. Move the decimal point over one space and maybe someone will buy it.
I was going to post here that the seller is smoking something then curiosity got me and I jumped on evil bay to see what was available and got a good case of sticker shock I now understand why the seller is asking so much granted those other cars listed are still for sale but wholly cow makes me wish I kept the one I flipped when was 19 didn’t have as much rust as this one and it ran
if this gets redone it will be along winding road ahead. there are better examples to be had out there

Hack job on the tin work. Eek!
Looks like it’s all there but barely.
They made 20,302 Z/28’s in 1969, and there are about 19,000 for sale at any one time. At Mecum, they are $100,000 and way up. At $25,000, you would have some room to work, but it is still NOM. Since there are so many engine parts, I am wondering if the original motor went south at the races. At least you have a 302 block. This one might be a candidate for a Dynacorn body ($14,500) since all body panels will need to be replaced..
All I can do is shake my head at the asking price.
A terminal Stage 4, case of terror-mites if I ever saw one.
Chemo is pricey but $25,000.00 ?
Survival chances are not very good for this puppy.
Good thing not in a hurry to sale with that asking price and condition

It will buff right out.
You’re buying a VIN plate and some other parts. The body shell will go into the crusher when you’re done. A Dynacorn body is the starting place. With this much rust I doubt the front subframe is worth much of anything either and based on the pic’s there’s really not much that is salvageable. IF (and that’s a big IF) the 302 block is matching numbers and is usable, then it could be a salvage candidate, but being this was a drag car engines are consumables so while there’s a 302 block the chances are that it’s the original is remote. With this you basically have to start from scratch, but why not start with a better example? The cost of all the missing bits and pieces would eat you alive. You’d need another parts car or two and it doesn’t make sense.
I am a realist and my non rusty running nice Z is probably truly worth 60K to get someone to actually plunk cash down. No way in hell he will get 25 for that but hey, it has a console and gauges right?
If you acid dipped this or sand blasted it to get the paint off there would be nothing left when you got done. They’d dip in the tank and it would disappear. Definitely not a $25,000 dollar car.
Maybe if we have a hot box session in the car with the owner the will drop a zero off the price. Or maybe just provide a tetanus shot for the experience.
