This Chevelle looks rough. There’s lots of rust and the interior has been gutted, but the seller mentions a few aspects that may make you want this project. Apparently it is a 396 car and the original block, transmission, and rearend are with the car. A worked over 350 V8 is included though which reportedly puts out 425 horsepower and 450 foot pounds of torque! If that doesn’t make things interesting enough, the frame is claimed to be new as well as the suspension. New brake components and the old interior are included too. The floors do need replaced, but are you thinking the same thing I’m thinking here? After placing the souped up engine between the frame rails and fixing the floors, I would be tempted to leave the exterior as-is. With all the power and a ratty exterior, this could end up being the ultimate sleeper! Find it here on eBay for $9k or best offer.

Ultimate Sleeper: 1969 Chevelle SS

Bored over but not sure how much? That tells me the motor is just as shitty as the rest of the car. I’m sure he used the auto zone dyno method to calculate the horsepower as well. You know, “these add 50hp, plus this adds 25%, so i should be about 425. Not much of value here. The frame appears to be a rustoleum restoration. Not much of value here
Confused about the pics here. Shown, I guess, before it was torn further down, then left exposed? It seems to be a collection of rusty Chevelle parts.
New frame,Oh and the new frame,Needs new floors,trunk,1/4 panels,doors,fenders,hood,Plenty of rust under that vinyl roof.Did I mention new frame?…Oh its a unibody,…Oh….It has the original motor,but heres a 350 that puts out 450 h.p.,somebody told me so. $9,000.00, 9k, 9 thousand dollars.
Chevelle’s are full, perimeter framed cars, not a unibody. Camaro & Nova were “uni body” with bolt on front frame rails.
roflmao !!!
Love those wheels, tires and even the brick.
Gives this beauty a great stance!
I love these cars, but this one’s a mess….
What is the point in building an ultimate sleeper in a world where street racing lands you in jail and out of a drivers license for years? Better to finish the job properly and end up with an investment that pays you back.
Truer words… Might as well look good while going slow.
I’m rather partial to ’69 Chevelles whether they’re SS models or just a plain 300 Deluxe like I had. I’d like to take on a project like this one but the starting price is simply out of my budget. But I have to say that this car is in pretty good shape. I’ll have to hold out and see if a 300 Deluxe with a 6 cyl. happens to come my way…
My first car was a 1969 SS 396 Chevelle.
I would love to have it.
I would fix all rust and paint it blue with white stripes, just like mine was.
Cool Car!
Neat old SS.
oh ya! just what I would want, somebody’s abandoned project mess!
i’ve seen worse but not much
