“Wench” Truck: 1974 International Harvester Loadstar

International Harvester Loadstar

Disclosure: This site may receive compensation from some link clicks and purchases.

Here’s a heavy duty hauler for only $800! Sure, it needs a carb and head gasket, but it might be a good buy for someone who needs to tow. Let’s just hope the seller was referring to the winch when they called it a “wench truck”. Find it here on craigslist out of Atlanta. Bill M gets credit for sending this one in. Happy Friday everyone!

This is not a Porsche the guy is asking big money for…….it is a piece of equipment. The winch is worth more than the asking price. It is too bad his ad doesn’t live up to your expectations.

What’s your problem Dave, you’ve had some kind of a hate on for me since the disagreement over the CORD !!! Debate. Let it go man.

What day is it today? Never cared for the Loadstar, although some people had good luck with them. I’ve driven half a dozen for various jobs, and every one was POS, wreaked of gas, hard starting when hot, and in a drag race between 2 dump trucks, I was driving an R-190 with a 450 in line 6, and another guy was driving a Loadstar with a 392, V-8, and it was dead even, which doesn’t say much for the V-8. The 450, you could put a brick on the throttle, and it would never blow up. The same could not be said for the V-8. The “S” model that replaced this with the 466 diesel was a much better unit. I suppose the winch is worth something, but as far as the truck, that’s a good place for it.

If I still had my country home on 3 acres and a hell of a home shop/garage I would buy it just for yard art, COOL !!!
