Not all that long ago, aftermarket fiberglass add-ons and body kits were a popular way to make your ride stand out, and one car that was a frequent recipient of these mods was the Chevrolet Corvette. Numerous companies provided redesigned panels, with Eckler’s being one such manufacturer that’s still in business today. The seller of this 1980 Chevrolet Corvette here on Facebook Marketplace reports that this one features their Greenwood body kit, which certainly makes the car stand out, but isn’t as radical a transformation as some of the others. This C3 is in Twin Falls, Idaho, with its $10,000 price tag listed as non-negotiable, as it’s said to have had three times that amount poured in over the last nearly 20 years.

Looking around the outside, the installation appears to have been performed to a high standard, with those quarters large and in charge. As far as aftermarket ‘Vette hoods go, this one is just right for my tastes, although the side mirrors aren’t my favorite, and I’m still undecided on the wheels. A bit more bodywork will be required before this one’s ready for a new paint job, but the exterior appears well on its way to becoming something beautiful. I’d probably stick with the red, but a black or even a candy-apple type finish would also look great here.

While the buyer seems to have a good head start outside, there’s still plenty of work to be done inside. The seller mentions that her husband had planned on installing a new interior, but never got around to it. It’s not specified whether he lost interest or might have passed away, as this is a long-term project. At a minimum, the seats will need new upholstery and the dash pad replaced, but perhaps the steering wheel will be adequate if a centerpiece is located and added.

No engine photos are provided, but a 350 is said to be in the bay, though it’s not the original component. However, the car is reported to be running and driving fine, so hopefully most of the work still needed here is cosmetic rather than mechanical. This 1980 Chevrolet Corvette seems to be at a pretty good point to take over, and though I understand that much more has already been invested than the asking price, I’m still curious if the market will support a firm price of $10k. What do you think?

Those Recaro seats are wasted. Even has thigh bolsters…
Decent project. Wheels are period.
Wheels are UGLY!
Those wheels were UGLY when new!
cool
This body kit happens to be my favorite of all the Wide Body conversions from way back when. I would lose that hood for a stock flat hood and wheels for a more modern look. Other than that and all the other stuff the car needs it would make a fun modified C3.
Overpriced at this point given the paint work and other items we can see that needs redone and what we can’t see needed redone.
Interesting the seller mentions No A/C? Was it removed, still there or just not working? Need underhood pictures to make a better decision as to whether this car is worth a call!
What would be the cost to move it to TX. All the work that it needs it is overpriced. $4000.00
$1,300 – $1700 to ship to Texas is my guess!
I recently restored a 79 and these things aren’t cheap to redo. New engine, rebuilt tranny, rearend, suspension, interior, all new glass…etc. A good paint job done right, including stripping it to the glass is between 10 and 15K. I will never get my money back, but who cares? I love it, but re-doing one is not for the faint of heart or wallet! If chosen and done correctly you will enjoy it.
I love the look of this vet , but I agree with other comments . It’s over priced . To do this right it will cost another $15000 for paint , interior, AC and what ever else needs to be done.
