It’s a bold claim to say anything you own sits at the top of the pile in the world’s “X” category, but that’s not stopping the seller of this Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow limousine project from claiming it’s the world’s longest. Over the years, similar conversions always try to create notoriety for the final product by claiming it’s the longest such stretch in existence, so I doubt this is the first Rolls-Royce limo to make such a statement – but more intriguing to me is how it ended up sitting in a back lot in the first place. It looks better now that it’s been pulled out of the weeds and you’ll find it here on craigslist for $19,995.
The seller provides plenty of details about its various features but I’d like to know more about how it ended up here. The classic Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow is a pretty typical choice for a limousine, and anyone who is in this business will tell you that a bride-to-be who loves British culture and/or wants to create the illusion of being some sort of princess-in-training will gladly overpay for a vintage British limo. Wedding cars are a big deal for newlyweds who seemingly have limitless budgets for their special day, so I’m sure this old Rolls could be a money maker for someone before too long.
It looks much healthier here, and the seller is quick to point out that among its many features are gold-plated headlight rings. Other nifty features include two air conditioning units, an electronic center divider, cocktail cabinet, decanters, and an old-school Sony TV system. The Rolls incredibly hasn’t been converted to some sort of domestic V8 engine, as it’s still running its 6.75 L factory eight-cylinder mill. This engine was good for around 200 b.h.p. when new, and I doubt it feels all that sprightly in a stretch limo such as this one. Still, the seller claims it runs smoothly after the carburetor and points were rebuilt.
The interior is in surprisingly decent shape for a car that was clearly left to sit for some time. The seller believes that the interior needs all-new leather upholstery, and I’m curious if it looks worse in person – because it looks perfectly usable here. The wraparound seat will cost a small fortune to re-do, which makes me wonder if the problem is less due to the condition of the leather and more to do with rodent infestation or moisture that snuck in. The listing does note that the Rolls-Royce has rear bodywork issues to address, and it seems almost every vintage limo has some aspect of its conversion that results in rust creeping into the stretched structure. Thanks to Barn Finds reader Rocco B. for the find!

Not even $199.99!!!
Just sad..an elegant lady given a botched facelift..
If its real gold accents strip it and sell it for the gold value, for the rest of it take it to a drifting competition. My opinion the seller is out of touch with reality when they claim its priced to sell at $19,995 unless they intended to price it at $1,995
I’m surprised Rolls Royce allows stretch limos like this to exist. No doubt they consider it a tasteless monument to wretched excess.
Dont know about ’72, but here is a ’74 that is longer :^}
A money maker for someone? Hahaha. A money pit! But hey, at least it’s got rebuilt points!
I have never been a body man, but imagine the trepidation when putting a sawzall or a torch to a perfectly good Rolls Royce.
Scrap metal value only. Once it was parked outside in the weeds any value it had at the time went straight to ZERO.
I think the seller meant $19,995 as the cost of getting it back on the road. The brakes alone would cost a fortune to repair. They could have trimmed the grass under the car before taking those pics, but better they didn’t.
World’s longest? I DOUBT IT. I have seen stretched Cadillac and also Lincoln that even had a pool in the back with tandem rear axle to support the weight.
Jeez you’re asking 20k don’t take a picture parked in the weeds lol. Park in front of a private jet! Common sense. Still a piece of crap but at least it looks classy.
