Barn Finder Doug M has been working hard and has unearthed my wife’s worst nightmare, so thanks so much for that Doug. Listed for sale here on Craigslist is this package deal of six 1965 Ford Galaxies. Located in Roanoke, Virginia, the seller marks the title as clean, but I’m not sure if that’s on one or all six of these beauties. The seller has set a price of $14,000 OBO, but the buyer must take all six cars. The six comprise two convertibles, three hardtops and one 4-door sedan.
With this kind of an assortment there should be something there to please everyone. The most complete and best looking of the six is the dark colored hardtop. The body appears to be complete except for the front bumper and there are no obvious signs of major rust. It also appears that the majority of the interior trim is present, although it may need some work by the looks of it. What we don’t know with most of these is whether there are drive-trains present with two exceptionS which we’ll see shortly.
There’s the 4-door and one of the convertibles. Both look fairly complete as far as we can see. Once again the interior trim looks to be complete. What I don’t like is seeing convertibles sitting out in the weather. I really hope that they throw covers over them to afford some protection. There does appear to be some corrosion present near the tail-light of the sedan, but it doesn’t look too severe. What I will say about all of the cars that we’ve looked at so far is that none of them appear to be “nose high” which may indicate that there is something hiding under each of those hoods.
This shot shows us the second convertible and a second hardtop. The convertible is the most distressed looking of the cars, and appears to be missing a fair amount of interior trim, but there is not too much rust or rot visible if you ignore the hood. I suspect that this hardtop has been used as a donor car which would explain the lack of front panels.
This is the last car. This one looks the least promising of the group judging by the signs of corrosion around the rear pillar and the engine bay. This is another one that looks like it may have been cannibalized as a parts car. The rear and side glass looks like it is broken, but the windshield looks to be in good condition.
Looking at what’s here I think that there’s every possibility that by combining parts and panels that three of these (one hardtop, one convertible and the sedan) may all make sound bases for projects. The dark hardtop seems to be the most promising. I think that it would also be possible to get one up and running and sell the remainder and either break even, or maybe even come out ahead. It is going to take a special somebody with a big shed because these need to be moved out of the weather. Winter is just around the corner.
See he is saving time to mow the lawn
Six is parts to make one but 14 is twice the price here per my book as it takes labor and storage with continual fire from the spouse to get it out of here 😮😼
Hmmmm….14-large for 6 junk Galaxies, or 12-grand for this red one…

Bad timing for the other six……I cant imagine the “wife” being happy when the other six show up. Less stress to buy the red one…..
That red one is a beauty, but I wouldn’t call the 6 being offered, junk.
just kicking this around… the ” best” looking cars are the black one and the blue/green convert , use the others as parts cars for these two .. we have no idea if any are running or how well they are running I saw no LTDs either of those I mentioned would be good on cruise nights
Too bad 2 of the 6 may have been a custom 500 coupe, and the other a station wagon , then all body styles would be represented in this six pack sale. If so, it may have helped raise the final sale price, no way $14k in these conditions.
Let us not forget a four door hardtop, David. I went to college near Roanoke. The winters there are not kind to cars, especially converts. One winter the whole town was deeply snowbound for about two days. I was driving a RWD car at the time and nobody was getting anywhere without 4WD or a front wheel drive. Even the mail carriers had trouble with chains on their Jeeps. Then for weeks after the salt, brine and sand used on the roads accumulated in chunks on our quarter panels and doglegs. PASS!
The dark one with the shiny wheels looks the most interesting, at least from the outside, can’t help but wonder what’s under the hood. The other cars look like they have been out of commission for many decades. I’m sure every Ford nut is wondering if that is another super rare R code four door! 😉
Genuine “k” or is that j-u-n-k, I think the later.
