1931 Buick Limousine Barn Find!

At first glance, you might think this is a Bentley limousine barn find. Well, you are close. It is actually a 1931 Buick series 95 limo that features a ’31 Bentley grille. The seller was doing a Bentley conversion but ran out of time and is now offering it for sale. It can be found here on eBay with a current bid of just under $3,000 USD and the reserve hasn’t been met yet. For those of you who would like to keep it a Buick, the original grille is included. Located in Woodstock, Canada, this car is ready for a new owner who can complete the restoration. Check out this car and see what direction you would take it in.

Here you can see the driver’s compartment looks fairly original. The ad does say that it has a “brand new canvas roof and seats.” I’m not sure if that means it has all new seats, upholstery, or just seat coverings?

It looks like there are quite a few spare parts in the back of the limo. This car is really roomy on the inside (obviously). The suicide doors lead into a spacious passenger area which would be great to ride in. This car would make an amazing wedding car! What do you think?

This photo is a little dark, but you can see the suicide doors which open up on both sides of the car. There is no photo of the engine compartment, but the ad does say it was running a couple of years ago. The body has been acid-dipped and the seller says it has no body filler and lacks any rust or rot. Overall, this looks like a really solid project that is a little out of the box. Hopefully, a potential buyer will bid over the reserve amount and this project will go to a good home.

And we think today’s video games are violent. I’m not sure any of the cars in the Untouchables were Buicks, they all look the same to me. Not sure what will happen to cars like this, I think it’s still nice enough to save, just don’t know if the interest is there.

    31 Bentley grill my @$$! It’s from an S series, 1955 – 1965.

I love it when a seller lies about something so obvious, it lets me know not to believe anything the guy says until I verify it!

Nice looking car but what caught my eye was the fact that the garage or structure appears to be merely sitting on the ground. Noting the car is sitting on ground vs concrete, which can be damp and damaging to the car, I can’t see a foundation for the structure. Is this common in Canada? I wonder what keeps the garage from being blown away in a severe storm.
Regardless, the car seems to be very restorable and intact.

We don’t attach our buildings to the ground here so that we can move them onto the ice in September come freezeup.

Yes, this is true. August is the only month free of permafrost.

Interesting car, though I have some concerns about wooden wheels. AFAIK there aren’t that many people or places that are able to work on them at this time.
