Having had just one owner for the last 33 years, this 1992 Cadillac Sedan DeVille looks like it just jumped out of a brochure; it’s that nice. Whether Barn Finds readers like the smaller front-drive Cadillacs is another story. The seller has this rust-free low-mile luxury sedan posted here on craigslist in Burbank, California, and they’re asking $15,500. Here is the original listing, and thanks to Jack M. for the tip!

We’ve only seen one 1992 Sedan DeVille here on Barn Finds, and two Coupes. This one almost looks like a Touring Edition, but I don’t see any badging on it touting that status. I guess the wheels are different, and it doesn’t have the “hand grips” on the steering wheel. Maybe it’s just the lack of white-wall tires that gives it a somewhat sportier look, if that’s even remotely possible. These are optional 15″ “lace-look” aluminum alloy wheels.

Showing 19,997 miles on the digital odometer, I’m assuming this one has spun past 20,000 miles by now, unless the seller is literally parked in their driveway for these photos and hasn’t driven it since taking the photos. Speaking of that, they get a huge gold star for such excellent photos, especially for a craigslist ad! They even show an underside photo, and it looks almost like a new car under there. The bottom of the trunk got cut off in that photo, but a seller taking the time to pop the trunk lid and take a photo is rare, so anything is better than nothing.

The Light Beige paint has somewhat of a pearlescent pink look to it to me. It looks much nicer than a regular boring tan color, and the equally unoffensive light leather seating surfaces work well with the paint color. Pages 35 and 36 of this 1992 Cadillac brochure show the Sedan DeVille. The rear seating area looks unused. I don’t see a flaw anywhere on this vehicle, inside or outside. The sixth-generation DeVille was made for model years 1985 through 1993, and they were much smaller than the previous DeVilles, not to mention front-wheel drive.

I can’t imagine a cleaner engine, and this car is 34 years old! This is Cadillac’s HT-4900, a 4.9-liter OHV V8, which was rated at 200 horsepower and 275 lb-ft of torque when new. Backed by a four-speed automatic transmission sending power to the front wheels, the seller says there is zero rust, it’s like new, and this looks like easily the nicest example on the planet to me. Hagerty is at $11,400 for a #2 excellent-condition example, and this one appears to be all of that, if not even nicer. Any thoughts on this time capsule sixth-generation DeVille?

1991 books and what appears to be a 1993 interior (they were plusher than 92 and earlier) Something fishy
Chip, it doesn’t take much, but I’m confused. The books in the seller’s ad are definitely 1992, and these are the exact leather seats shown on page 36 of the brochure link I included in the fourth paragraph.
Good write-up Scotty, and I like your description of the paint color- you’re not colorblind, that’s for sure.
Sorry no, that is a 1992 interior. I owned one. Much depended on if it was a Spring model or not. This appears not to be. The Spring model had perferated leather. This is smooth as a babies butt. You can keep that 4.9 fuel hog though. Mine knocked as if there was someone inside hitting it with a hammer and it NEVER got better than 18mpg. I hated that car. Traded it for a ’97 Seville, that was worse. Cadillac sure produced some bad engines.
Reupholstered?
The manual shown is 1992….
It would take chronological service records to prove to me that this odometer has NOT made a full run around the block.
A digital odometer doesn’t “go around” but it can be replaced by a similar car that was wrecked. From the pictures, this car was probably babied from the day it was driven home and used to go to doctors or for groceries. These things were like sitting on a cloud soft and quiet. Best ride I’ve ever had from a Cadillac, just too bad GM produced such rotten engines. Many of this model were purchased by first time Cadillac buyers that retired to Florida.
Checked the original pics: the manual is a 1992 (zoom way in) and the interior is correct for 1992. The leather was an option.
As always, have it inspected; worth the money!
price is too high. these were not good cars. need maintance records to back up the mile claim.
Wow, such a beautiful car.
Worst color combo ever! Should have been outlawed on anything wearing the wreath & crest & is not deserving of the (Antelope) Firemist title.
I really disagree with you. I think this is a great color in & out and the bw go well with the rims.
I don’t know much about the drive train but from other people on here, I guess it’s one to stay away from. But where else but BF do you find a new car for $15,000?
Should be illegal to put black walls on a luxury car. IMHO.
I like the bw look my self with these rims. Wire caps? Not so much.
I had a ’81 Olds 98 Regency, wire caps and ww. One day I was rummaging through a salvage yard and came across a Buick wagon with those finned aluminum rims with the larger center cap that some Olds wagons had and also Buick full size models.
Decent looking set so I snapped them up, ordered new Olds caps, bought new bw Uniroyals and the car looked really sharp & sporty.
