As elegant as can be in Sterling Blue, this ultra-low-mile 1979 Cadillac Fleetwood Brougham looks perfect parked outside this building, or house, or whatever this equally-elegant structure is. The crisp lines of this gorgeous Fleetwood Brougham can be seen here on eBay where the seller has this car listed. It’s located in Memphis, Tennessee, there is no reserve, and the current bid price is just $5,600!

Ahhhh… Memphis, home of so many landmarks and things to do, what a great city. What a perfect car to drive around, seeing the sights and taking in all of the history and nightlife. Wait, that house isn’t Graceland, is it? Just kidding, and this Fleetwood isn’t pink, so this one probably isn’t Elvis-related. Although he had been gone for a couple of years before this car was made.

I don’t see a flaw in this car, inside or out; it’s a true time capsule. Cadillac downsized most of its full-sized cars for the 1977 model year, and this ’79 Fleetwood Brougham was about a foot shorter than the 1976 model. This top-trim model looked almost identical to the DeVille series, at least to the general public. The seller says this car has spent its life in Alabama and Tennessee and has just under 30,000 miles.

I was expecting leather, but these puffy velour seats are probably more comfortable in Alabama and Tennessee’s hot and humid climate. I know, I know, just turn the AC on, SG. This car has air-conditioning, of course, and the seller says it blows ice-cold. The back seat looks unused, and the trunk looks perfect as well. This is one car I don’t need to see underside photos of before bidding.

Speaking of perfect-looking, it’s been a long time since I’ve seen such a clean engine! This one is Cadillac’s 425-cu.in. OHV V8 with 180 horsepower and 320 lb-ft of torque when new. That is, if this is the four-barrel model, the EFI version had a bit more power and torque. The seller didn’t list a VIN, so I’m not sure what provided the go-juice for this surgically clean engine. Backed by a Turbo-Hydramatic, the seller says this car operates like it was brand new and everything works perfectly. Hagerty is at $8,800 for a #3 good-condition car and $12,500 for a #2 excellent car. I’d put this one at the excellent level without blinking, so at $5,600, this one is currently a steal. How much will this beauty sell for?

Beautiful Caddy!!! Of the newer ” downsized ” Cadillacs, ’77 to ’79 had the 425 V8 in them. Which is a silky smooth torque rich motor with the same architecture as the 472 and 500. Reliable as an anvil. All the fillers look good and that paint is amazing too. So many faded in that color back then ( silver was even worse). The blue on the engine looks like a different shade than factory to me. But its been years ( decades) since I’ve been under the hood of my Dads ’78 Coupe Deville. So my brain may be a bit fuzzy remembering. I may be wrong, but I think the Fleetwoods came with 4 wheel disc brakes too from what I remember from the Cadillac brochure. ( again I could be wrong). But this is one terrific example, look at that trunk!!! Its clean, very clean. Nice write up Scotty ,thank you.
Driveinstile covered it. Beautiful BlueBomber Caddy. Thanks SG. ✍️
nice!!!
Very nice clean Caddy! Looks like the one from the movie Donnie Brasco!
A lovely reminder of past glory.
I prefer a car with more miles on them so I don’t feel badly when I drive them, but I do understand the mystique of a “new” old car.
Cloth seats over leather/vinyl any day of the week for me.

Need to budget a respray of the entire passenger side to correct the variance on that rear quarter.
THIS is the way to FIND ’em! Where’s Angel Cadillac Queen Diva?
One of the finest examples of a Cadillac I’ve ever seen on BF. This is a definition of pristine if I’ve ever seen one.
Don’t worry about Angel, Harrison. She’s trying to stop shaking with excitement long enough to write the check!
C’mon guys, you’re in here long enough to know that our Queen couldn’t care less about any post-1976 Cadillac, and if this one would ever make her shake, I bet it will be rather with contempt than excitement ;) However, I must admit that I myself like this first iteration of downsized Caddys a lot, and I think they look better than their downsized counterparts from the other brands.
This was listed recently Facebook for $8250… Factor in at least a respray of the whole passenger side to correct that rear quarter panel. But then it will be obviously of a better quality than the rest so a full repaint would be in order.
Pimping ain’t easy…..and neither is trying to parallel park this beast! Beautiful car!
I find it odd that GM spent the tooling cost for a different B pillar design on these. It was years before I noticed the shape of the B pillar on a Fleetwood 4 door is different than that on the DeVille. A blue velour interior is always a winner in my book. I really miss the plush interiors that actually came in colors. This is a really nice old Caddy.
