These days, you don’t often see big American 4-door classics on the road. Since most collectors want 2-doors, big classics like this one are often overlooked and underappreciated. This 1970 Pontiac Executive is a full-size 4-door with a 400-cubic-inch V8, automatic transmission, and an asking price of $5,000. The seller says it is driven regularly and has a clean title. It is located in Springfield, Missouri and is listed here as a Barn Finds Classified.
Equipment includes power steering, brakes, and windows, along with air conditioning that is currently uncharged. The seller reports new brakes, replacement HVAC controls, a rebuilt driver’s window motor, and a radiator repair completed in October 2025. The five-digit odometer reads about 3,270 miles, so actual mileage is unknown.
The 400 cui V8 wasn’t the most powerful option in the Executive, but with 265 horsepower and 397 lb-ft of torque, it’s got plenty of grunt to move this big Pontiac down the road. The engine bay could use some tidying, but will get the job done just fine as is.
There is work to plan for. The floor pans need work, and the car reportedly needs starting fluid on the first start of the day; the seller suspects the carburetor bowl is losing fuel overnight. There is also a small exhaust leak. Outside, the green paint has chips, the right front bumper is slightly bent, and a panel near the right headlights has a hole. The car includes replacement headlight panels and a turn signal. The interior appears largely intact, though the driver’s seat has a tear.
