The Super Bee joined the Dodge lineup in 1968 as their version of the Plymouth Road Runner. It was based on the mid-sized Coronet through 1970, then switched to the Charger for the last year. The seller professes to have a ’71 Super Bee with a 440 cubic inch V8 Six-Pack, which looks freshly restored. But no mention is made of that, or if it’s the real deal or a tribute. Jack M. is the source of this tip, and the cool car is in Chicago, Illinois, and available here on craigslist for $30,000.

When Chrysler redesigned its B-bodies in 1971, there was no longer a 2-door hardtop version of the Coronet. So, the Charger served as the basis for the Super Bee in its last year, when just over 5,000 copies were produced. Of those, only 30 are said to have the Six-Pack/4-speed manual transmission combination (69 more had an automatic). If this car is what it proposes to be, why doesn’t the seller make noise about this? Surely, that would have added a premium to the seller’s asking price.

We’re told the odometer reads 11,000 miles. If correct, surely that’s more like 111,000, and this car is simply too nice not to have been redone with that kind of use. Another miss on the seller’s part is photos of the engine compartment – none are provided. While the Dodge is said to have the A33 Track Pak and the N96 Ramcharger hood scoop, the Super Bee stripe was deleted.

With an engine this potent, the car should have more than manual drum brakes, but it doesn’t. But it does have the Rallye suspension with rear leaf springs, front torsion bars, and a front sway bar. The painted steel wheels with dog dish hub caps do add a bit of menace to the look of this Dodge. The seller will not entertain trades. If this car is authentic, this could be a great buy. But if it’s not………….?

Mopar Muscle big time. All black w the steel wheels and dog dish are perfect here. 🤌
The stick shift will help those manual drums slow down this rocket 🚀
Hmmm, reminds me of the 1970 426 Hemi Challenger for $7500 (1982). The car didn’t belong to the seller…. it was a joke played to have people like me calling the number until it was answered. Guy worked at Jack In Box. The “friend” was trying to get him fired.
If this is real ad. Bet it’s already gone. If I was in Chicago, I would buy it this minute. Nice car!
You are right, it sold in Bring A Trailer for $86,000 in June if 2020.
On the hand, maybe the new guy (Blue something) that proclaims that the market for muscle cars is collapsing on every Mopar featured over the last month is right.

I am a Mopar guy and something is screaming in my head this is not right! Why only 10 photos? I would have the max number showing everything. The front end is sitting too low. I knew people back then. They would take a 318 Charger and make it a 440-6 SuperBee. But they knew to change the torsion bars so it would sit higher and correct. Where is the fender tag that would tell us the truth. I seen 71 SuperBee 440-6 pak the real deal and they sit higher than this one. And the N96 Air Grabber hood. Today you can buy a complete N96 hood online. This Mopar is very nice and would not mind having it. But need to look this over front to back and to see if this a V code Bee. People today take a HP 440 and slap a 6 pak on. This does not make it a true 440-6 pak.One thing the camshaft is completely different from the 4 bbl set up. I wish i remember the number stamp for 440-6 pak on the block. Also I remember power disc brakes came with a V code 70 and 71 Mopar. I could be mistaken but the fender tag don’t lie! This Bee could be just a clone. But a very very nice clone. Sorry if I offend anyone here. I just had to get it out there. 🇺🇸🐻
It sold on BAT for $86,000 in 2020 this ad uses the same pictures.
Steve R
Thanks Steve I had no idea about that. If so why $30,000.00 now? Again something is not right here. 🇺🇸🐻
Steve.. if i saw that ad for $86,000.00 i would mostly said the same thing like I did here. 😃
It’s a phony ad, someone is either fishing for information or deposits to hold the car.

Obviously our official law enforcement could care less about catching and punishing people like this as a detterent. I wish a private group would. Find people like this, and internet and phone scammers and make an example for others like them. Maybe chop off hands and place them on the keyboards. Word would get around the dark net in a hurry.
Well, I learned something new. I never knew the Super Bee was a trim on the Charger. I thought they were all Coronets
Good day JDC.. All base on Coronet model Charger/Superbee on the vin number the first letter W then you know its coming from Coronet. Any other Mopar guys out there can help out also.. thanks..JDC I try to learn something new everyday sometimes being 67 i forget things….😂🇺🇸🐻
Having owned a 74 Charger, you’d think I’d have known this. Im 68, and I forget if I once knew it or not! 🤣🤣
Steve R.. I wish Barn Finds could weed out the phony ads so they don’t put them up or give us a heads up. Thanks for letting us know this! 🇺🇸🐻
BarnFinds is for entertainment. They don’t have the resources to weed out the ads. If you are serious about a purchase, you have to perform your due diligence.
Most of the scams are pretty obvious. That’s why they are effective, they are designed to trick the gullible and uninformed. Like the old saying says, “if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is”.

At should have sold within 5 minutes of the ad being posted. BUYER BEWARE!
Especially if it’s being sold out of Chicago…
This looks like a scam. The photos are downloaded directly from BaT, and the price is obviously too low.
I am building a 71′ Charger base model. It has the same taillights/pan as this car. I know the RT came with different taillights and the hideaway headlight grill (as i have both of them in my parts bin).
My base model left the factory with a 383 and came with power drum brakes. I don’t think the 440 6 pack would come with manual brakes. I also am under the impression that it would have the better trim package taillights. When I ran the Vin online it came back as a charger or coronet.
The torsion bars would have a stamp on the end indicating diameter based on HP cars or small block cars. Not sure about 440 6 pack, but the hemi would have an extra leaf spring on one side (driver’s?) to assist with extra torque.
The rear axle would help determine it’s birth equipment too. HP cars had sure grip 8.75 with higher gear ratios.
I drove a Super Bee 440 after doing work on the suspension. It was scary fast , but sway and braking were puss poor. Car was a Death Trap without upgrades I recommended. GLWTS
Beautiful Mopar. Definite scam. 30k, I’d buy it….
Didn’t Freiburger have a 71 440 six pack black Bee?
looks sinister in all black
If a seller doesn’t show pictures of the vehicle front to back it always makes me wonder why. What are they hiding? Good or bad ,show it all. Love that Super Bee but something is not right.
It’s an eminence front.
It ain’t what it seems
