According to the seller, this 1930 Ford Model A roadster has been in their family since the 1930s. It was apparently stored in a barn from 1959 to 2005! It can be found for sale here on eBay with a current bid of $6,800 and a BIN of $15,750. Located in Comanche, Texas, this car would make a great cruiser, rat rod, or hot rod. If it was yours, which direction would you take the build?
There isn’t much information in the ad regarding the engine and transmission besides “Took a little work but it is running and driving again.” These four-cylinder engines from the 20s and 30s have a great sound when they are putting around. I’m guessing the new owner will probably do a V8 swap. What do you think?
The seller says the car is very original and based on the photos, I believe them. The interior looks amazingly original and is a step back in time. The floor pan doesn’t look too rusty and this car seems like a great project for someone. In fact, the car was featured in the Restorer Model A Ford Club of America magazine in 2013!
Here is a photo of the rumble seat. Rumble seats are awesome features of these cars that instantly turn them from a sporty roadster to a passenger car. Overall, this looks like a nice solid and original car that is the perfect candidate for a restoration or driver. What do you think?
If it was nothing but a bare shell it’s anything you want it to be. If it’s a complete car such as this it’s history. Restore and ride.
this car cries out to be preserved and driven as is.
restored roadsters are a dime a dozen, cars like this are not.
making a street rod or rat rod from this would be an unforgivable crime…..
15K… you’ve got to be kidding.
The rumble seat was invented by —— Packard.
I Would Gladly Spend Ten Thousand More And Get This Finished Roadster Even If It Is Glass!

I am NOT a Model A fan but if this were to end up in my lap I would sort it out to make it a safe driver and enjoy showing it off to people as an ORIGINAL car of the thirties. There are thousands of restored A’s all around the world but how many are there running around in this condition after 90 years?
I’m with the guys/gals who say: Aside from a good cleaning and engine tune, leave it the hell alone. Many folks are right: Lots of restored ones running around but this is the real deal and once you mess with it, it will lose not only it’s originality but it will lose value as well.
Well, it’s got a Phlathead!!! Points for that,
But, price is waaaay to steep.
