The Z28 began as the Chevy Camaro model slated for SCCA (Sports Car Club of America) Trans Am Division competition. After the engine size increased from 302 to 350 cubic inches, the Z28 became a larger part of the Camaro arsenal. This 1977 looks like new and comes with a lot of documentation that may or may not help sort out the odometer reading of 7,352 miles. Located in Carver, Massachusetts, this Chevy is offered by a dealer here on eBay, where the current bid is $17,600 (reserve unmet) with the buy it now price of $23,900.

If you wanted a new Z28 Camaro in 1975 or 1976, you were out of luck. For some reason, they were excluded for those two years, perhaps due to the shrinking muscle car market and the uncertainty of oil prices (sound familiar?). But the car returned in 1977 and sold more than 14,000 units (per seller-provided data). A 350 V8 was standard Z28 fare, producing 185 hp SAE net. Z28s came with a Turbo-Hydramatic transmission, and this car has a long list of options to its credit.

The color of this automobile looks like Persimmon to me, but the actual hue is Code 78 Orange, flanked by a Buckskin bucket seat interior. The body, paint, and interior all look great, although the carpeting may be slightly faded over the rear hump. This Camaro has the F41 Special Performance Suspension, which should make for a more spirited ride when you’re working those curves on the Tail of the Dragon in North Carolina/Tennessee.

It looks as though the A/C compressor has been replaced. And the spoke steel wheels are perfect for the Chevy. The tires are newer, so they’re one less thing to have to consider replacing after you make the purchase. With not one but two build sheets, the Camaro was sold new by a Chevy dealer in Arkansas and eventually made its way to New England. Is this a ride that would get you to lay down nearly 24 large for the privilege to own?

Always wanted one of these 1977 Zs.
With the right options, they were quite fun to drive. A red w/red, white w/red or silver w/red.
Also needs 3 pedals….
They also state “true mileage unknown” in their add.
Had one when I graduated high school. Great cars. One part that’s hard to source is the air cleaner snorkel hose. I think the orange met paint on a Z is kinda rare.
