When you’re in the market for a sixties or seventies GM A-Body, it’s always a good day when you run across a well-cared-for example, but even better if the car has spent its entire life in California. This 1970 Pontiac LeMans here on eBay is the desirable Sport model, and it ticks a lot of the right boxes when it comes to both luxury and performance. The condition isn’t perfect, but this Pontiac appears solid all around, with most of the flaws being only cosmetic in nature. This one’s currently residing in Costa Mesa, with a buy-it-now price of $15,900. The seller has also provided the opportunity for potential buyers to make an offer.
When it comes to performance options, the original buyer made some fine selections, such as equipping his LeMans Sport with the High Output 400 cubic-inch 4-barrel V8. Unfortunately, the born-with engine is no longer under the hood, and it’s been replaced with another 400 from a 1974 Trans Am. However, the original heads and carburetor from the original motor have been retained, with the seller assuring us that it is running great. More good news is that the Turbo 400 automatic transmission and the Safe-T-Track limited-slip rear are both factory components.
All of the sheet metal here is stated as original, with some of the panels still wearing their factory-applied Verdoro Green paint. A few areas have been resprayed outside, with the seller upfront that the touch-ups don’t quite match, but what’s more important here is that there’s no rust and the Pontiac has never been involved in an accident. This is one of those cool cars that is presentable and can be driven as-is indefinitely, or also a candidate to perform some minor body work and get some fresh paint on quickly.
One hundred percent original is how the interior is described, with the overall condition inside a good testament to how well this one’s been treated over the years. A few notable options include power windows, a 4-way power front seat, air conditioning, and an electric clock, although the latter isn’t currently functioning. This 1970 Pontiac LeMans Sport seems like a fine driver, with the seller indicating that it needs nothing mechanically, so I’d probably consider just enjoying it for a while before making any improvements. What would you do here?

i’d drive the s$%t oit of it. burn outs? only from every take off. 😁
Definitely a wolf in sheep’s clothing. The only difference between this and a GTO is the bench seat and column shifter That torque monster 400 under the hood should supply the ability to shove you back in the seat and unlimited burnout capabilities!
Drive it like you stole it. Worth every penny and can make her gorgeous while you drive it.
To bad it needs paint, A decent paint job in Socal will set you back almost as much as the purchase price.
Drive it down to Mexico. Back in about ’77, I had a friend who did NOT speak Spanish, who took his 57 chevy pickup across the border from Del Rio, TX for a paint job and it actually came back looking really good. 50 bucks!! Yes 5-0, fifty. Unfortunately for $50 they did not do any disassembly or taping. He spent weeks getting paint off the glass, grill, bumpers, lights, tires, etc. Still was a pretty good deal, I thought.
Featured last week on this site, it was bid to $11,201, but did not meet reserve. Putting a set price on the car is probably the wise decision, it’s in the Los Angeles metropolitan area, with over 10,000,000, it won’t be long until someone buys it if it’s as solid as it looks.

I was just about to post the same thing – we saw this one just last week and it is now reposted – both here and on EBay.
Solid car. Nice condition, great engine package (even if no longer numbers matching), nicely optioned and priced well. This should sell quickly. Kinda surprised it didn’t do better at auction.
Is it just shadows or is the hood bent a little
been on ebay for the last 4weeks. looks like a good deal. first time i have seen a sport with a bench seat. buy and drive it.
I knew a girl in high school that had same color sport we put 8 inch Corvette rallys on it, it was a fun car .nice as my ’72 Monte Carlo on the highway. And yes it did monster burnouts limited slip.
Sadly swollen
Earl Scheib did the same kind of job for $29.95… no ups, no extras.
I would rather have this than a GTO, price seems reasonable if it’s as good as it looks.
