In Corvette land, Bloomington Gold Certified is kind of a big deal. It basically means the car in question remains extremely original, in the kind of condition you might expect to see after it left the factory. This 1970 model has received this certification, and the condition certainly seems to affirm its highly original state. You’ll find it here on eBay where bidding for this 454-equipped example is over $24K with the reserve unmet.
The interior remains in excellent condition, with no visible tears in the seats or door panels. Green surfaces appear almost everywhere, with very little contrast visible. The Corvette is equipped with working air conditioning, power windows, power brakes, and power steering. Mileage is reportedly 75,600, making the high state of preservation even more impressive.
In the years before Chevrolet began pulling the more powerful engines from the lineup, you could order a bruiser of a 454. This engine is paired to an automatic transmission, and the seller says the Corvette remains very enjoyable to drive. All numbers match, of course, and documentation is said to be extensive – going all the way back to when the car had four miles on the clock.

Seriously this a a beautiful Vette. Needs full inspection of course, but sure looks remarkably preserved. Will be interesting to see what it brings, When you see rotten pieces of cars that are selling in the 20’s, extra coin spent on one this nice is the way to go. IMHO, too bad its a slush o matic. Wow! Nice options on this one. This one is gorgeous even if it is in green everywhere. I also hope the bidding goes way above my budget. I too would prefer the manual but as we age the day will come when an automatic may be the only choice.
66 years old and my 60 year old child bride (Lolita) and I are still “rowing” the gears on our 84. (Although as a Masters Rower I will assure you it is totally unlike rowing) I did drive an automatic 1996 last weekend and I will admit I could live with it if forced to.
At least it’s not a PowerGlide.
So, this seller/dealer has been posting this car on eBay for sometime. I am not sure why Barn Finds is choosing to publish the article on this car now. It is a nice car but the “Classic Car Dealer” wants a pretty penny for it.
