The TR7 was a wedge-shaped sports car produced by Triumph (British Leyland Motor Corp.) between 1975 and 1981. Exports to the U.S. were prioritized over units destined to stay in the United Kingdom. The seller in Marysville, California has seven of them for sale, or at least that’s what we think from the two photos provided. They’re available here on Facebook Marketplace but it’s unclear if the asking price of $3,500 is per unit or for the whole “collection”.
A 2,000-cc inline-4 engine was used in most of the TR7s, but there were some TR8 V8 Triumphs built as well. More than 115,000 copies were assembled in seven years, but the car struggled with quality control problems that prevented the automobile from being any more successful than it was. The group the seller offers looks to have been sitting for a while and may or may not be complete vehicles. We get the impression that the seller needs to clean out the property ASAP, so if one price gets all of them, that could work out to only $500 each. Maybe you can make two or three good cars out of the bunch. Sorry for the lack of details or more photographs.
It has to be 3500 for all seven of these POS junkers, but why would anyone want 7 of these things? Or even one?
If you have a love for TR7’s, then you need to own 7 of them in order to have one running at any given time.
Me I want them all haha to bad I don’t have the extra money. I would have plenty of parts to keep the good ones going.

Some of these carried a Rover 3500 sourced V8, which was based on a Buick unit. I always found the styling of these, especially the convertible, interesting, one of the more striking designs of that unattractive, wide shoulder pad era. Something you’d doodle on your High School homeroom peechee folder. Could be a good set-up for a 350 crate conversion (I think it would fit?) or something electric? These were rare new, rather amazing to find SEVEN together! The $3500 has to be each, which is a little high based on condition.
When the TR7 was first unveiled at Geneva in 1975, il maestro Giorgetto Giugiaro at first stood mute gazing upon it looking puzzled, then walked around it to the other side and remarked, “My God! They’ve done it on this side as well.”
As to why he’d expect anything different, design bucks often show varying styling proposals on alternate sides, so evidently he wondered if the dramatic swoop in the flank was just a proposed alternative to something more sedate on the other side. Whether he was impressed at Triumph’s daring commitment or simply aghast was apparently not recorded by history.
