The Valiant was Plymouth’s compact entry from 1960 to 1976. The first generation was quirky in appearance and was sold through 1962. Things improved for the second round from 1963 to 1966. That’s when the seller’s 2-door sedan was built. It comes with a small-block V8 engine of undisclosed displacement, while many of its comrades had the venerable Slant-Six. We don’t know how original this little Mopar is, and the seller is quite flowery with his/her description of the would-be purchase. Located in Newbury, Ohio, this Plymouth is waiting on the first bid of $2,500 here on eBay, but there’s a reserve to be met, or you can commit to $13,500 and seal the deal right away.

Changes to the appearance of the Valiant were few in 1966, except for the front grille. A new design was coming in 1967 that proved to be the best-selling and longest-lasting (10 years). We gather this 2-door sedan is a basic Valiant, given the lack of bling unless it has been removed. The “majestic dark green” paint does take some getting used to, and we’re doubting it’s the original color of the car. The interior is green (looks blue to me), which would have matched better with white or some other paint job from the factory.

We’re told this Valiant has 93,000 miles, which we assume also applies to the “powerful” V8 engine. The seller describes this vehicle as the class of the field, but the photographs suggest something a little less inspiring. Better photos might help. The automatic transmission has had the shifter relocated to the tunnel on the floor. And the Mopar has a “rear-wheel drive system.”

It’s a three-owner car if you include the seller. We’re told he/she has owned the car for either six or 10 years and has driven it very little despite the number of orbits around the Sun. Work completed consists of nothing more than changing the oil and airing up the tires. The seller encourages would-be buyers to come take a peek before bidding, and that’s an excellent suggestion. That way, you can gauge whether this is a daily driver or a project for your garage.

Hmmm….can’t it be both?
If the seller is putting up flags it may need some work. Not saying it’s not a viable project but be cautious. The description may be vague for a reason. V8 in this car will go once it’s sorted out.
Might lend well to a little personalization. Gotta love the spartan utility of the interior. This has that all business vibe.
What’s up with the crazy colors on the last 3 I have seen here on BF. You could make a street terror outta this hardtop post car. But to get past the laughs , best start over with stripping it to bare bones chemical dip.. 4 shades of green remind me of something I stepped over in bar parking lot.
Seller doesn’t know if he owned it six years or 10? Sketchy at best.
Being in Ohio, means a lift inspection for rust. Like the car, but hate the color. The engine (318?) Might be original to the car. If not rusty it’s a $2,500 to $6,000 car. If priced correctly, no rust and local, I would probably play. Too bad it’s not a manual.
What happened to the washer bottle?
Tire size difference sceams drag racer.
And please remember this vehicle is “as is were is.” 🥴
I never knew that AI written ads could contain so many spelling and grammatical errors.
I noticed the small brake pedal and took a closer look. You can see a clutch pedal pushed all the way to the floor. Maybe in another life it had six and 3-on-the-tree? Not too many of these left in the wild and it does look solid, but I would do an in person inspection before putting any cash down. I’m not seeing 13,500 but the again I’m a cheap old guy.
Perfect to install a 4 speed overdrive from an Aspen/Volare and give it some serious rear gear. Would become a fun car!
$13,000.? Seriously?
”1966 Plymouth Valiant is a classic coupe with a sleek green cloth interior and a mejestic drk green exterior.”
AHAHAHAHA!
